Aspire: Calorie Counter & Diet
Ratings & Reviews
The biggest issue I have with this app is the inaccurate and outdated information. The nutritional information is limited to less than a dozen nutrients and includes elements of concern such as cholesterol. Even the American Heart Association has gotten rid of an upper limit on dietary cholesterol. Previously it had been set at 300 milligrams per day, but that was discontinued following examination of the current evidence. It lists by eggs as having average nutrition. Perhaps this is because several of the nutrients in eggs are simply not considered by this app. As I said, it only analyzes something like a dozen nutrients. Only 1 of the B vitamins makes the cut (B12) and all of the rest are apparently irrelevant. Maybe there is a way to add them in, but if so I cannot find the option to do so. I wanted to try the fasting clock, and it works while in the fast. However, if it tracks your prior fasts in the app somewhere, I cannot find it. As by soon as I hit “end fast” it simply disappears. The search option to log food is hit or miss. Sometimes it has the item, and sometimes not. Even when it does, the quantity options are poor and a bit ridiculous at times. Did I eat a pound of eggs? Of course not. Why is this even an option? Who eats a pound of eggs?????It offers a keto option, but then gives you red warnings all over for high fat. …which is exactly what keto requires. Talk about whiplash. Anyway, I spent the $20 on this app with the intent of being held accountable and having extra motivation. In the end I am just frustrated and deleting it.
I bought the year subscription based on reviews. After using for a week the only negative is not being able to change start time on a fast when i forget to hit the fast button. At least i havent been able to find an answer for this (yet). All other questions ive had have been answered through other users questions being answered by responsive app developers/support. This is the biggest plus overall. I look forward to seeing success with the daily use.
I love this app; it had helped me lose a significant amount of weight in the past. For some reason I stopped using it and gained much of it back over the past two years. I tried using a different app (MyFitnessPal) but there were too many ads and the reminders automatically shut off if you forget to log for a few days.
I am sure I’ve not explored all the features of this easy to use program. I installed it on my iPhone, iPad and Windows PC. I see everything across all platforms. The program finds just about every food I eat. I’ve lost 25 pounds in just over a month. I’ve also paired it with the Health app on my iPhone. It’s just a fantastic App.
My biggest problem when trying to lose weight was foods that I thought were good for me really were not, when I started using the app and seeing how many calories foods had in them, I made different choices, there are days that I don’t even come close to eating all my calorie because of the smart choices I am making
I really enjoy this app and being able to track my calories, crabs, protein etc. the major problem I have is the app doesn’t know the difference between total crabs and net crabs. So for all you Atkins users and people like me who are blending Atkins food/snacks into our keto diet, I recommend you create your own food instead of using the search results.
