PolarAlignAP is used as a reference to help polar align an Astro-Physics corrected right angle polar finder scope. PolarAlignAP uses iPhone's Location Service to obtain your current latitude and longitude although they can be entered manually.
The screen shows the position of Polaris if you are in the northern hemisphere or Sigma Octanis if you are in the southern hemisphere. It also displays your latitude, longitude, altitude and universal time, along with the local sidereal time (LST) and hour angle (H.A.) of Polaris.

This app is essential for Astro-Physics mount head owners. I use it every time I set up my telescope. It does need an update for newer iPhones however it gets the job done; that request is simply for aesthetics.
Very well done and easy to use at the scope. MrfixitCT obviously isn’t the brightest bulb in the pack as the app is showing you the location of Polaris (Octans) in real local time stated in UT.
So much easier to use than the three star polar scope.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
