Doesn’t Work

Only allows direct wifi connection. Does not find the Astrolab even after updates and trying both wifi networks in my house. Hope they fix the bugs soon with this. If they do I’ll update but I doubt I’ll be the only negative review for this.

Indeed it doesn’t.

I’m giving two stars because I know a company like Arturia is gonna fix this. They wouldn’t launch an app for a single purpose and then have that purpose not work. It’s an essential tool for the Astrolab keyboard. Within a month or so I hope they’ll iron it out.
The problem is that they decided to connect the iphone/ipad to the Astrolab using WiFi. That in itself is not that big a deal, it’s just that it won’t stay connected. I’m sure they had a good reason (in their minds) as to why not just connect the iOS device to the Astrolab via Bluetooth (which Astrolab does support). That way, each device has its own connection to the internet and still easily connects to the keyboard… like just about EVERY OTHER type of hardware that wants to connect to an iPhone. I can’t recall any other device (in any industry) that wanted to connect to it’s proprietary device over WiFi while also using the SAME WiFi to connect each to the internet. That’s a setup for a whole host of problems and my guess is that Arturia is learning this the hard way.
