I've truly enjoyed playing Athena: Blood Twins—the game is engaging, well-designed, and has kept me coming back daily since its release. The early progression feels balanced and rewarding, which made the first 145 levels particularly enjoyable.However, I’ve noticed that after reaching that point, the game begins to shift noticeably toward a pay-to-progress model. While I understand the need to monetize and support continued development, it would be great to see more affordable options or value-driven packages that make continued advancement more accessible to a wider range of players.For example, despite spending around $100 since launch, my progress is significantly outpaced by players with much higher gear scores, some of whom appear to be spending considerably more. Meanwhile, my two alternate accounts, with minimal investment (~$10), are even further behind. While it's commendable that high spenders are rewarded, a more balanced daily progression system—perhaps allowing for 750K gear score gain per day without requiring purchases—would help non-paying or lower-spending players feel a greater sense of achievement and incentive to stay engaged long-term.Additionally, reducing the gap between locked levels after R1 could help smooth the pacing and improve the overall player experience without compromising monetization.Overall, it's a great game with a strong foundation, and I look forward to seeing how it continues to evolve.

It’s exactly what you’d expect from a mobile game churned out these days. Lots of microtransactions, gatcha elements, etc. The primary problems with the game is that the UI is absolute dog water. Your screen will be absolutely littered with dozens of “offers” begging for your money, wheels to spend money on, gatcha to spend money on, pop ups for everything that disappear in three seconds, including gameplay elements that you need to read but can’t because they disappear before you can get through the other half dozen pop ups at the same time. The second problem is the gameplay. The game wants to auto play itself. And you can’t turn it off, meaning that while you’re trying to sort your way through the trash UI, the game is throwing pop ups at you, whether it be dialogue windows whose voices don’t match the text or a brand new money spending opportunity, that you constantly have to close or else you can’t do what you want to do. Also, the archer character has a bug during creation that makes their head not have textures so you can’t see what it looks like, but you can change it later for, you guessed it, money. The only saving grace that this game has, is that it doesn’t burn up my phone like many other unoptimized games do, literally the only thing preventing a one star. If you decide to give this game a pass, you aren’t missing much.

All in all this a great game for wasting some time on. It’s mostly an AFK game with some very minor management for upgrading your character. The combat is fun for “watching damage number go bigger” but that’s about it. The worst thing about this game is the UI and monetization. There are literally 50+ sale/deal icons on a tiny play screen at any given time making it almost impossible to see anything. It’s honestly embarrassing. I know games need money but this is approaching Black Desert levels of storefront clutter. If there was an option to watch an ad to remove it for 2-3 hours I’d be fine with that. I already did the math and there are a few hundred dollars worth of items for sale that barely do anything to actually help your character. Once you hit player level 120 you will hit a massive wall that says pay up or be stuck for the long haul. Yet again a fun time waster game but this UI needs some serious work. It’s crazy I’m getting an ad for an item for sale in the middle of a boss fight. Please do better.

Every single screen on this game and every button you press leads you to a purchase pack, this could of been a good game but my goodness is it annoying cause all the purchase icons are next to the UI buttons you need to advance for quests.Ensuring that you see their packs , there’s about 75 packs I’ve counted in my 30 minutes of playing and when I say playing it’s really most auto click and then another 15 mins was trying to navigate myself through the gross UI that is riddled with purchase packs , purchase this . Like F off greedy devs , if you have a good game or product you don’t need to shove packs into players time and ruin the whole gaming experience. This game as much as it looks good it’s not. It’s like constant button pressing and you see and hear sounds to impress you that you have progressed in the game but don’t be fooled even the sound effects sound like casino slots. It’s giving you that rush of dopamine for a second but after you have played the game for all day and you look back and reflect what you actually did in the game, all you remeber is clicking buttons , hearing sounds , and some flashy graphics without any substance , story . Solid 0/5 for me
