AthensGaWeather is a hyper-localized weather app developed to personalize the forecast experience for Athens created by Athenians. Since 2009, the University of Georgia geography department has served the local areas with daily, weekly, and emergency forecasts via their Facebook page with over 16,000 followers. AthensGaWeather is presented in an easy-to-use app with features such as:
- Daily high and low-temperature reports
- Precipitation forecasts
- Five-day forecasts
- Narrative weather reports from UGA geography students
- AthensGaWeather social feeds and video reports
