Ratings and Reviews
Pretty entertaining.... but a few glitches
Thsi game is very entertaining and doesn’t depend much on paying to earn rewards, the upgrade mechanics are not complicated, the fighting is a little repetitive but fighting the many different titans are fun and make you want to keep playing, but I have run into a few experiences that have made me have to completely exit the app, when I have gone to raid automatically, it has Opened the rewards screen and froze without rewards not letting me exit, another one I have ran into is somehow, I have gotten a bad and perfect hit at the same time and it stopped the attack after that hit while I was stuck looking at the titan walking around, after it happened once every other time I left (giving up) it happened the next one, so I had to leave the app, otherwise the game is very entertaining and keeps you going with no boredom
I want to give more... I really do
But it doesn’t take much to see that this was massively rushed in order to hit a deadline of some sort. Financially, or just lack of any projects at all. This should have been held back, polished, and released with the next season of the series itself. And stop this top up rank garbage. Make a great game, and your micro transactions will come in more than you know. Make a rough, audio missing & repetitive sound used game, you won’t even hit that Facebook goal you set up. My suggestion would probably have to be that if you have swipes and taps for what seems to be the runner portion, incorporate that into the fighting mechanics. Because they are majorly dull. Special skills between unique characters (will also improve micro trans as people will be trying to get specific characters), and for me, the entire menu system needs a rework. I don’t know personally any successfully running mobile app with this comic book style stage selection. Would probably also drop the whole “shards” concept as well and do something with character ranks. This honestly does feel like a standard year 2000 japan gacha app concept with AOT stickers on it...... and I personally can’t contribute to these repeat of washes up ideas of 4 month running apps.
So...many...butts (and QTEs)
If you’ve ever wanted to battle some freaky looking giant naked dudes, have I got the game for you. To be honest, I have absolutely no idea what’s going on in this game, so it’s probably more entertaining for fans of the series. I watched one episode on Netflix but didn’t feel like reading subtitles, so never got into it. That aside though, the fighting got super repetitive super quick. The fight mechanic depends heavily on Quick Time Events, but they don’t mix it up in any interesting ways. It’s just timing the exact same QTE for each character. They could have mixed it up with different variations (multiple dots instead of just the one, maybe some vertical/horizontal swipes), or have some defensive QTEs, anything to make it more interesting.
On the plus side the upgrade mechanics aren’t too overly complicated, and the artwork is pretty decent.
Overall, it’s just not compelling enough of a game for me to play since I don’t really care about the IP and the fighting mechanic got really stale after awhile.
