A great tool for audiobook fans!!!

This application quickly & easily binds separate .mp3 files into an .m4b audiobook complete with chapters. You can also add the album art, if you prefer to see the cover on your audiobooks. I, personally, appreciate the ability to see the art when viewing all my books in one window, rather than just greyed-out, blank squares. For me, it’s a quicker way to identify what you have.
When you initially download the app, it will direct you to pick a folder where you’d like to save your newly bound audiobooks. I created one with the obvious name of AudioBookBinder. Then I dragged & dropped the album cover into the window labeled “Cover”, typed in the author name, book name, & narrator name in the main window & simply dragged & dropped the files into the window labeled files.
In preferences, you can also choose whether to add the new audiobook to iTunes, the sample rate, mono or stereo, the bitrate, whether or not to enable chapters, & a maximum volume length of 1 hour up to 24 hours.
The initial conversion included 4 .mp3 files, & the conversion only took 2 minutes at the most. The resulting audiobook, with cover & 4 chapters, ended up being 1:10:18.

I applaud the creator of this app for: it’s usefulness, it’s simplicity, & it’s ease of use. Thank You!

Better than Audiobookbuilder!

I’ve been using Audiobookbuilder (which i paid $ for) for the past year until it suddenly stopped working (possibly it updated and I just have to restart or something but who knows). I came here and saw this was app was FREE so i gave it a shot and what do you know? It works just as good as ABBuilder—only FASTER! My only complaint is adjusting the length manually can be a minor inconvienience (you only need to do this if your book is over 24 hrs or unless you want it broken up into 2-3 smaller files) and I’m still not sure it it’s absolutely neccessary to use the “Command J” keys to “join” the all the chapters into a file before I bind it but whatever; I do it anyways… Save yourself some $ and try this app before you consider trying anything else (i really wish I had!).

Did exactly what I needed, free and easy!

Sometimes you just need a good, simple single-purpose tool. I'm not a big audiobook user, but I have a long road trip and wanted to turn a bunch of large mp3 files into an audiobook. I'm so glad I found this tool. It was easy to use and got the job done. So I'm giving it 5 stars even though there was one big flaw: By default, it tries to add your new audiobook to iTunes, which no longer exists in macOS, so it asks you to find it so it can finish the job. Just make sure you disable "Add to iTunes" in the preferences, and the flaw goes away. You'll have to manually add to the Books app. Anyway, thanks for this tool. I would have paid a buck or two for it, but glad it was free!
