  • Really? TRACKERS??

    [ APPLAUSE ]

UPDATE:Recent update has resolved IAA zombie process issue and removed incessant "continue" button. ~12sec splash screen is immensely irritating and seems to require some kind of internet access to launch, though (trying to phone home?). Even so, an improvement from last few releases. OLD: My my... They've actually managed to make it worse... After years without any usability improvements and few bug fixes, this new patch introduces an incessant "continue" button on the boot splash instead of just launching the interface as before, as well as breaks IAA even further (now they launch as zombie processes, requiring manual intervention or even reboot). Worst of all, IT NOW CONTAINS TRACKERS.

  • The Buggiest App on my iPad.

    TheDudeAbided

I was a user from when this app first appeared, and for the first couple of years it was fantastic …. BUT.. it’s been getting buggier and buggier since, and I can’t remember the last time I used it and it worked the way it was supposed to. Take today’s session for example, I try to load an app into the input. Fails. I have to relaunch the app. Fails. Then I have to restart the entire iPad. Then it finally launches but says it might not perform properly. I select Aurea as my output, and when I launch it, wipes clean everything from the project I was working on, all tracks disappeared! Unbelievable. Fortunately I had a back up. I finally get it recording into Auria, but I have to work on the iPad internal speakers because it won’t recognize my Bluetooth speaker, no sound comes out, ever. So do my recording, go to close the app, and it glitches out and creates a giant volume surge out of the iPad speakers, not great for my tinnitus. Way to go, beginning to end an unpleasant experience. Deleted for good this time.

I’m sorry to hear you’re having a frustrating time with it, but this is not at all normal – please just get in touch directly so I can help you troubleshoot. I wonder if you’ve denied some important permissions or something.

  • App not necessary / demo version would have been helpful

I read reviews, and I read the online manual for Audiobus. My main main purpose for getting Audiobus is that I need to route AUDIO to multiple BUSses. The manual says the app makes it possible for you to do this. However, after purchasing this, the only options are to route to L/R (or Out 1/Out 2). The app is not necessary to be able to do this. What I need is an app that will route audio from my iPad to multiple busses on a DAW on my computer.Audiobus is a really a virtual mixer that allows you to route audio from a handful of audio apps to one mixer and/or to other apps. Output is limited, but it can be resolved with the purchase of a physical audio interface to connect directly to your iOS device. This, in turn, eliminates the need for the app in particular live performance settings. To be fair, the app seems like it would do great if I actually used the apps that it is compatible with... which really is quite a few. I originally gave this a 1=star rating, but decided it wasn’t a fair rating just because it doesn’t do what I needed it to do. However, the app does seem to be good at its current design.Again, a demo version would’ve been extremely helpful in determining this prior to purchase.

  • This version fixes the endless-loading bug of previous version

    lovetongueattack

For a while I was unable to use audiobus because any attempt to link apps would result in a seemingly endless "zzzz..." icon followed by the error message that I needed to restart apps and my ipad. Now that that's fixed, I can use my ipad to make music again! Joy.I am confused as to why we are no longer able to select outputs on audiobus 3, though. If I remember correctly, audiobus 2 would display the various outputs of your interface upon clicking the circled "i" in the menu for selecting an output destination. Now the only option is "system audio output". Thankfully the input "i" dialog still allows me to choose which channel of my interface to use. That missing output option is a real bummer, though.

This is sad. The app is an iOS legend. Completely responsible for getting me into iOS music making. Have a dedicated iPad with hundreds and hundreds of music apps and was still using Audiobus all the time. It was recently sold to new owners… now I am sadly deleting it. Gone are the days of passing the time playing with Audiobus on flights and other times without wifi. Now it needs a connection to check if you have paid for a subscription I guess (barf, I will NEVER do that). Why would I subscribe to an app I’ve owned for probably a decade? Just because you broke it and it won’t work correctly unless I do? Nope. At least introduce some exciting new features and a roadmap of what you expect in the future if you’re going to push a subscription. I would still dump the app but at least it wouldn’t feel scammy.

  • Total control

I’m using a CEntrance MicPortPro with a Sennheiser microphone. This app lets me see and select available interfaces. In the case of the MicPortPro, AudioBus lets me select left channel, right channel, both, or any combination. Accidentally selected both left and right, plus right, resulting in higher levels (actually sounded better). No other app I’ve seen gives you this kind of control. After you select your input, you can add plug ins and Route the audio out to the app of your choice ( in my case Twisted Wave). Indispensable. Suddenly using an iPhone to record voiceover isn’t such a cumbersome effort.
