Auth0 Guardian is a mobile app that can deliver push notifications to a user’s pre-registered device (typically a mobile phone or tablet) from which a user can immediately allow or deny account access via the press of a button. It can also generate one-time passwords if that is preferred.

Note for developers: Auth0 Guardian is one of the multi factor authentication options that can be used within the Auth0 identity platform ( You can enable it with a single switch. You don’t have to change your apps to start supporting multi factor authentication.

No advantage to regular SMS two factor

I had to use this for about a year and it generally worked OK, until I got a new phone. Then the app did not transfer well and it was unusable. I never saw why this was an improvement over regular two factor authentication using SMS text messages it seems I have just one more app on my phone that doesn’t give me much benefit.

No sound?

Is this app supposed to have sound when it notifies you? I am not getting any sound with the notification even though I have sound enabled under notifications

Crashes Immediately

Crashes immediately upon launch. I have an iPhone Xs on the latest iOS, and my application is up to date. This would be frustrating if I didn’t need the app to access work-critical accounts, but instead it’s debilitating. If you have the option to use a well established MFA system (i.e. Authy, Google Auth, Microsoft Authenticator, etc.), DO SO. Will do my best to avoid this app in the future, as unstable MFA is unacceptable.
