Auto Chord is a "chord follower" that automatically generates chord accompaniment from live music. Unlike apps that require the user to manually program a sequence of chords, Auto Chord automatically detects chord notes and uses the information to control a pad synth, which is included in the app.
The chord detector uses a model based approach to pick the best chord based on harmonic similarity and complexity. User controls include trigger level set sliders (note on/off levels), and a list of the types of chord to use (e.g., major, minor, 7th, diminished, etc.).
The internal pad synth is based on our xMod FM synthesis technology. A touch sensitive sound space controls timbre of the instrument. Other controls change register, decay, and portamento.
MIDI is sent on channel 1.
N.B. Although the app works with most music, it is essential the music be "in tune" (A4 = 440 Hz). It is also best to minimize percussion and ambient noise.
Audiobus 3 compatible. Now sends MIDI data!

So this is actually pretty cool for live midi pads behind stringed instruments. Once i had played with the settings and got a good input level it worked well. Now its not like other guitar single note midi guitar, but it played cool ambient synth and displayed interesting chords. I think there is value more in a way if you just think of the app as unique and it does in fact work!
Works as advertised
One of the best audio midi controllers works better than midi guitar 2, works exceptionally well ignore the negative reviews this is a must have app
Terrible! Complete garbage!
Let me be among the first to save you three bucks. No matter what I did I could not get this thing to work – not at all. It is completely worthless from concept to execution. Go to help and you will discover that although it tells you how to operate it on the PC and the Mac that's very little help send us your obviously on an iPad. Not a word about how to use it there. Developer gives you the impression that you can use any form of live music, songs, instruments, etc. No matter what I did it would not respond. Also if you want to use recorded music you'd better be prepared to pay for it on iTunes, because there is no way to go anywhere else (i.e., Dropbox) and pick up an MP3. Useless. Useless. Useless. I'm only giving it one star because I have to In order to submit this.
