Autobrain 4+

It’s off a little on the locations, and it took a while for it to start registering every trip. I’d start at point A, and drive to point B. Then I’d go to point C, but it wouldn’t show the route from B-C. When I’d return to point A at the end of my work day, it’d show from point C-A but with a wild mashup of purple lines denoting whatever route would’ve been from B-C-A. It’s finally, after a couple weeks, reliably logging accurate trips.

I don’t write a lot of reviews, but when I got the request for me to rate & comment about Autobrain, I did so happily.

I had tried several other tracker-type applications via the App Store, and every one of them basically sucked and was a waste of my time and money. What makes Autobrain different? Well, for starters, Autobrain works...98% of the time. It worked right out of the box and was easy to set up. Compared to the other apps in the marketplace, this is apparently an extraordinary accomplishment! But stopping with that accolade would diminish the other things that make this product stand out above the competition.

Roadside assistance comes with your Autobrain membership (I ditched AAA & saved $120). Thru the OBD scanner you can access to your car’s engine codes and fault diagnosis. As far as tracking goes, The mobile app works well, as does their website. Both provide you with the ability to go back in history if you wanted to find out where your car has been. I really love how I can get live, instant updates as to where my teenager is driving (and at what speed). Autobrain’s customer service is ridiculously efficient and friendly. The price is right, too (although I do think that they should discount membership fees for additional vehicles).

I bought an Autobrain shortly after my car was stolen in May of 2020 and have had it since. Soon after, I noticed the driving history wasn’t accurate so I stopped checking it and bought an Apple AirTag to have a real-time location of my car while also keeping the safety features of the Autobrain.
About a month ago I decided to check my driving history and come to find out it had stopped tracking 8 MONTHS AGO (April 2022).
I reached out to customer service about this and apparently they updated their tracking device and I needed an entirely new one.
So without any sort of notice, I’ve been driving around with an outdated tracker while Autobrain continued to charge me for my annual fees. Confused as to why Autobrain wouldn’t send out an email of any changes.
On top of that, you have to send back your old tracker or they charge you extra for that too. They claim to mail a prepaid envelope with your new tracker but they don’t. You have to go into the post office and pay for it to be shipped out. Super inconvenient.
All around crappy customer service. And not worry-free tracking device.
