Auxy has earned an Apple Design Award for bringing powerful beat-making and song-sketching to iPhone and iPad. Its innovative design makes the app easy to learn, yet powerful enough for creating professional-sounding tracks on the go.

”Auxy is my favorite way to get what is going on in my brain into a musical format. It is simple on the surface but with tremendous depth if you need it" - RAC

“The automation is terrific. I am doing things with Auxy I would not easily do with my DAW. The design is insanely smart and forward-thinking. It is productive for me to use, but I have also shown it to kids who have been able to have fun making real music. It is the best new audio product I have seen in a long time.” - Madeon

“The thing we love about Auxy is how it uses technology to let people be creative, without letting that technology get in the way.” - Apple Design Awards

Editors’ Notes

A refreshingly simple take on music-making, Auxy lets you create beats simply by placing colorful squares on grids. With the intuitive modular interface, it’s easy to arrange blocks, tinker with their composition, and create complicated beats. Once you’ve found the sound you’re looking for, you can adjust the tempo, key, and effects on the fly—then record it and export to MIDI.

Music computer guy works great ,

Great app , couple suggestions

I love Auxy, the work flow is like a dream work flow I had years ago but lacked knowledge to applicationize it.... anyway, I am a music theory/ Edm knowledgeable person and I found this app on par with any desktop daw with the added bonus of a killer workflow. Bouncing to ableton the instruments don’t transfer so it’s better to do it as stems (or midi and then go recreate all those dope sounds) the audio can be a bit misleading in the app if you bounce straight to mp3 i.e. won’t sound the same on all stereos. To fix, turn your instruments down and rebalance at a lower volume or just re-eq stems in your daw. A cool feature to add would be the ability to do dj effects on the stems or if we could bounce scenes to say something like the notation launchpad app vs going to ableton then to pads for those of us who would like to be able to use the scenes as clips in ableton or similar apps. Love this program, I have made some of my favorite songs right there in the app.

Motor D ,

This is the one... A serious app for serious producers.

Auxy is a really fantastic music app and I’ve loved it since the early days, but I’d been on the fence about finally paying the subscription. I think it’s a decent value though, so I finally warmed up to the idea and decided to dive in and see what I’m missing.

There’s a lot of great stuff here and, as an Ableton Live devotee, I find Auxy is a beautiful companion that lets me quickly sketch new ideas whenever they strike. I’ve all the apps, and I can confidently say Auxy is THE BEST music / MIDI sketch pad in existence. It’s SUPER easy to export the project as a Live set and then finish it off using the pro-grade tools on my computer.

There’s one drawback however that I would love to see addressed in a future update: You’re locked into the typical 4/4, 16-step sequence. I know this is common for step-sequencer apps, but Auxy is a cut above those in every other way. Unfortunately not with time signature though. They do provide enough options to create a workaround, but when I’m on the go, I really have no patience for that. I just wanna jot that idea down *quickly* ... But if it’s a 5/4 or a 6/8 idea (which mine often are), Auxy is limited.

Developer Response ,

Thanks for supporting and hope we can add more time signature options in the future!
