Useful tools for the Audio Visual technician!
When you connect your device with a VGA adapter, HDMI adapter, or Airplay to a projector or flatscreen monitor, AV Aid will detect and display all available output resolutions for your device. (Even 4K!) You can then select one of these custom resolutions and AV Aid will generate and output color bars or mirror test patterns onto your display.
The audio test generator is also expansive, including left, right, center, phase test, pink noise, white noise, sweep, a test song and more. You can also designate your own custom test song from your own music library or via Apple Music. *AV Aid now features a Dolby 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound test using ec-7 (enhanced ac-3) encoding!
There are several other handy AV features like flashlight, IR detector, TRS, XLR, CAT-5 Pinout reference, cable connector resource guide, and additional tips for troubleshooting Audio Visual systems.
We have now also added a full screen front and back camera view if you would like to use your mobile device as a document camera during online meetings.
- Bug Fixes: Test images should now reach all the way to the edges of the screen.
- Design Improvements: Added AVAid version number to Audio, Tools, and Video page.

App includes IR filter love it
We've all had that remote we wondered if it was working. This App allows me to conveniently rule out remotes as the source of my problem using only my phone.
Fantastic App, Lacks Device Optimizations
The only reason I removed 1 star is for the lack of UI optimizations for certain devices along with some jarring UI elements but for the sake of practicality some of those jarring instancing can be forgiven. I would love to assist with optimizations/design in anyway I can. 😊👍
Developer Response ,
Thanks Benjamin! Sorry I just now realized that I can reply to App Store comments. We just rebuilt the app in Version 3.0.0 and released it using SwiftUI which should scale the UI elements better across different devices. We will continue to work on the UI and feel free to head to hobjoblin.com and message us with any specifics you would like us to address. Thanks for the feedback!
It is my main video test device. You can verify HDCP compliance via iPhone HDMI adapter. You can verify video audio levels passing threw AV switch to DSP. Awesome app.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
