Good Overview of Maschine 2
I will say this is a decent overview of Maschine 2. Not sure it’s worth $19….but it’s not bad. However….i’d also like to mention afew things about Maschine in general that NOBODY seems to mention for those that may be on the fence about buying Maschine.
Afew questions. Is it right that a $600…no wait…a $1000 drum machine only multi-outs in stereo when using it inside Logic, Abelton, or Pro Tools? Not by a long shot. It’s standalone version is the featured version…and the plugin version thats used inside of real DAW’s is almost like an afterthought in comparison. Maschine’s standalone version pretends to be a DAW like Abelton or Logic….but nobody that produces music professonally will ever use Maschine as there main DAW. I’ve never heard 1 artist say Maschine is there DAW of choice….they all say they use Maschine inside Abelton, Logic, etc. I do love Maschine for how easy it is to make drum grooves. Hands down it is great…but thats all everyone talks about. If you want to make a complete song using maschine for your drums inside a professional DAW you may find yourself beyond frustrated at how Maschine works as a plugin. Who likes their kick drums in stereo? Nobody. No professionals want their main drum elements this way. Personally I don’t care if you CAN run kick drums on a stereo track…you CAN do alot of things if you wanted to. The industry standard is for Kicks to always be routed in mono….not only that but 70% of all drum samples are routed mono….not just kick drums. There’s a reason professionals do it this way.
The fact that a drum machine with a $1000 price tag doesn’t give you the option to route to your DAW in mono AT ALL is ridiculous….and it needs to be mentioned.
