Outdated and the new Avycon One seems not retrofitable…

The app interface for Video etc is appaling; as if no one has opened a competitive App to try to match. Recently, a new problem arose with my Norton VPN without warning. Avycon worked perfectly with this software for a couple of years. Then stopped altogether. Aftera tedious 2-3 hours of research, I found the answer, ie turn the VPN off. My low voltage specialist showed me the new AVYCON ONE app that is supposed to be better. Not sure how it is supposed to be installed but so far is not working with my existing installation. In short, if you like complexity, difficult, non intuitive and troubleshooting on your own for hours then go for it.

The worst

This is literally the worst security system app ever. You’d have better monitoring capabilities with a half blind monkey and a carrier pigeon. I’ve been stuck with this app for my business for years and I can’t wait to finally change it. I can never access them either live or recordings without going to my business in the office where everything is hardwired. If it costs more for a different system but you can use a different app, it’s worth not having to deal with this.

It seems as though the integrator that set this up for you configured the mobile app to only work using your local WiFi. All of our recorders offer a feature where you can access the system from anywhere in the world using your mobile device or even computer.

If you can contact our technical support department during business hours (8am-5pm PST, Monday - Friday) we can assist you in enabling this feature and testing it to confirm that it is working.

Slow and unreliable

This app is terrible - this system was NOT cheap. I’ve used Nest, Wyze, Ring, Blink cams which all have fantastic apps that work flawlessly. Rarely can i bring up a live feed without force closing the app several times.....if you click on a notification it tells you the camera is offline. Developers, i strongly encourage you to download Nest app so you know how this is supposed to work.
