Didn’t even realize how much I needed this app
I didn’t realize how much I needed an app specifically for my pets until I used BabelBark. I initially downloaded the app as a tool to monitor my dogs’ health but in the past week, I’ve used the app to locate a groomer while out of town and to share their vaccination records with the new groomer, right from my phone. I will need to do things like this in the future and I’m glad to have BabelBark to help with that.
As my dogs get older, I want to track their health more closely and BabelBark provides useful tools to help me do that. I can track their activity and their daily nutrition. I can see this being especially helpful on visits to the vet.
BabelBark has already provided a lot of value and I plan to make it “command central” for all of my pets’ care.
No brainer. Download it.
One of the better free apps I’ve downloaded in a while. I’ve been using it for a few months now and highly recommend.
I store my hound dogs vaccination records and get reminders for his medications - he takes monthly preventatives and I struggle to dose him on time. The reminders make life easy. Plus when it is time to refill I can do it right through the app without having to guess at the exact name of what he takes.
One of the surprising uses of the app...it helped me help my dog lose a few pounds. After a recent surgery (for me) I wasn’t able to take him out as frequently as he needed. His attitude changed and he started acting out when he was bored. I purchased the optional health monitor and was able to track the amount for activity he was getting everyday. The app opened my eyes to how much activity he was getting vs how much he needed. I ended up finding a dog walker (through the app) a couple days a week to temporarily help me out. He’s down 8 lbs, my vet is pretty thrilled, and my hound is happy to be outside more.
Expecting a new addition to the family soon, while seeking a method for wrangling all of our doggie data, I downloaded BabelBark today.
Account setup is easy.
Adding pet profiles requires all fields be completed. This could be more forgiving with birth dates in particular, but is straight forward otherwise.
The feature set is fairly comprehensive.
I like the ability to add preferred service providers (aka venders in Babel' speak). Adding a veterinarian for example, provides the option to request the pet's medical history. Having older dogs, I love this concept. Being new to the app, I am hopefully optimistic that this data will be acquired from the veterinarian.
In my attempts to add a groomer and boarding kennel to the list of preferred service providers, I was unable to find my go-to services. As a feature request, being able to add venders would be a value add.
On the down side-by-side, the BabelBark app is fairly unstable and crashes a lot. Hopefully easily mended as the overall design and services the app has the potential to provide is quite compelling.
