Love Backcountry but the App crashes a bit too often

Backcountry gives a new meaning to customer service. Just because you place your order online or through the App doesn't mean that you shouldn't expect customer service. And with Backcountry they truly deliver! They are truly focused at going the extra mile and getting things right.

I love their website and their filtering capabilities make it simple and convenient to find anything your brand, your color and in your size. The App seems to crash quite a bit for me. Luckily - once you log in (please remember to do that first) they remember your cart. But a few times, I've made the mistake of rushing into shopping mode and then the App crashed and my 20 items had disappeared. Great company, great people, great
Products, and most of al great service.

One of my favorite companies ever.

These guys are doing it right. My boyfriend and I bought a water pump filter for our road trip extravaganza to America's national parks and the day we ordered it, someone called us to ask if we had any questions. They reassured us that out of the few we looked at, we made the right choice for our trip. We have spent the last 2 years since graduating college building up our gear arsenal for backpacking the Whites in NH and mountain biking and I am so greatful for backcountry's unbeatable costumer service. It's like being able to call that one friend who has genuine advice on personally tried and tested gear. I use the app all the time which has a friendly user interface and I love reading the articles like how to pick an new mountain bike and backpacking in exciting places. Like all of my friends, I'm proud to have a goat on all of my nalgenes.

Love it but for some bugs …

Speaking as a UX Designer who designs mobile apps … might disqualify me from reviewing, but here goes.
I usually search by brand. I noticed that when you look at a certain brand, and back out to the list of All Brands, the list returns to its default alpha sorting, with numeric-names brands at the top. So if I was looking at a brand that starts with the letter Q, and I want to see what brands come after, I have to thumb scroll from the top again.
Minor nuisance, I know. But I’ve noticed that some other retail apps will return you to your previous scroll position (look at Nordstrom, REI and Zappos).
Also, I do like the news feed. I noticed that a story posted summer 2017 remained at the top of the list for over a year. Perhaps this can be updated more frequently.
