It’s a money pit rip

I agree with the other reviews. It’s looks good, seemed fun, but it’s either playing the easy to beat AI, or up against tourney people who do not play “fairly.” I didn’t know exactly how the system worked when I started and was soon drained of coin in a game with an unsportsmanlike, cutthroat player, more concernedTtith gaining tourney rank than playing well. Then the game became about buying more coin or stuck playing the AI. And I’m sick of these games that claim to be free, only to be a hook for pay to play! tt ceased to be fun. The only “mastery” I saw was how to manipulate and trounce your opponent with no chance of fair play. I’m not a novice, but it doesn’t seem to matter. The game feels rigged and I’m done! Backgammon was one of the few “civilized” games that still exist. It had ethical rules of conduct. But there doesn’t seem to any here. I don’t mind losing fairly, but not when it’s so calculated with no over site. Too bad, at least it’s got good graphics.
Greedy

I THINK (Or better to say I personally believe) that your game uses an algorithm similar to the greedy algorithm wich mostly relies on the apponents dice and moves. What I mean is I may have 3 stones left and only one of them open in front of the computer’s single stone at my side, but the computer decides to make its stones safe by putting them on each other or by taking open spots at its own side rather than taking my open stone which may be its last chance to win. This means the computer or better to say the algorithm does not play perfectly but how can it win several games while playing like this? The answer is: You have had considered a percentage for the upcomming dice in the your algorithm which makes it greedy in real world too 😀. I know that greedy algorithm is not a perfect one and it mostly fails but by manipulating the dice when needed, you have made it perfect. You may want to say that if you record the dices that I get in long term I’ll see that they’re random but I have to say that they only look random while they’re not. In backgammon, the next move can not be guessed completely beacause it depends on the dice and the players decision too. You’re game has a nice graphic and speed but I think the dice can be improved by using methods like: Genetics algorithm or specially MACHINE LEARNING.I hope in the dice will be completely random on multiplayer in the online version of the game cause I’m going to download it too.Thanks.
Nothing random about the dice rolls
NorseStar1
I’ve played thousands of games of backgammon and not sure I’ve ever seen a game so unfair. The number of first role wins or number of doubles the computer gives itself is almost laughable but completely frustrating. Towards the end if I’m ahead it will start rolling me 1’s and 2’s yet will roll itself double after double to win in the end. Game moves along quickly enough but slow to start up as it needs to make a grand entrance at the beginning of each game. Download only if you want to be frustrated by the unrandomness of the dice rolls. I see why this has so many 1 star ratings and I’ve played this game many times. I actually deleted it once before because I was so frustrated at it. I re-loaded it only because there are very few choices for free games in backgammon. I’m becoming frustrated again at this and will probably get rid of it. Number of first roles it gives itself is probably 4 or 5 to 1 and the number of doubles it rolls itself is at least 2:1. I know because I watch the statistics.
Only fun if you're playing your actual friends and family, otherwise, an exercise in rage
callmeamys
The choices are to play one-off games with people terrified to play best of three because they're either cheating or only squeaked by out of dumb luck, an AI that is so simple it's like playing someone without a functioning brain, OR an AI that rolls doubles nearly 3 times what you do. And before you say lOoK aT ThE sTaTiSTiCs, I DID. AI, 8 doubles, me 3. Over and over again. It's also fun to be able to predict with near 100% accuracy that they're going to roll exactly the number they need nearly all the time. The stats only back this up. Try other apps, this ain't it, sis. It’s also PLAINLY apparent judging by the appalling responses of the developer why this is the lowest rated backgammon game in the App Store even though it’s the oldest. Keep on plucking that chicken, geniuses.
