App Issues

As an “Elite” level worker it’s been frustrating using the Bacon app. Ever since December 2022 the app hasn’t been showing the available jobs. And when a job shows up it’s taken immediately. I go to apply and keep getting “application limit reached” or “not accepting applications”. The app lately has only been showing one or two jobs for a specific date. They’re already taken and no other alternatives. The people at “Bacon” keep apologizing for things, saying their constantly bringing new clients/ jobs on board. Yet nothing is showing. Am I not supposed to be getting notified or invited first to jobs?? I delete and reinstall and still same issues. Or else I’ll apply and get a job. Only for it to be deleted or cancelled, and then once I got notified to confirm if I was attending that job, even though it got cancelled.

Thank you for the review and kind words! If you do run into any issues or have any suggestions as you work shifts and use the app, please let us know!

Great concept, not well thought out

I’m currently suspended, should lift as of today(1/3/21). I got a low score and to many withdrawals. And that’s where my issues lie. The company doesn’t get notifications that I’m withdrawing. I even texted the number to the supervisor the night I had to withdraw late. No response. I’m assuming that if you’re using this app, you have a full time job and like the money for fun or to give yourself a little walking around cash. I got a low score due to leaving after 6 hours because of a Emercancy and I was “on my phone to much”. A night shift making signs with a skeleton crew and the amount of signs I banded will say otherwise but whatever. Poor company anyways. So not that I care about the low score, but there isn’t any place where you can dispute anything. Which can cause you do be suspended for something that most people and companies don’t care about who pay less then 10 bucks an hour. ( I probably sound entitled but whatever. I’m being honest in my review. Which is why you’re reading this) if you can find a job where you’re at. They are going to be companies with high turn over rates. For whatever that may be.
Bacon really needs to go back to the drawing board and fix not only company policies, but fix all the broken bugs and glitches within the app. So I’m giving them a 1 star. Because they haven’t fixed anything from the past reviews I’ve seen. Like the job experience. Can’t scroll.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for taking the time to write out such a thorough review, and for your honesty! It's wonderful feedback. If you would like to dispute your rating or strikes, please send us a quick note at support@baconinc.com. We do find that workers are occasionally given unfair ratings, and we're happy to remove them if that's the case.

Regarding the strikes received for withdrawing, those are applied automatically if you withdraw within 24 hours of the shift starting regardless of whether you have alerted the company. We maintain that policy out of respect for the companies posting shifts; they need someone to show up, so the 24 hours allows enough time for someone else to apply. Emergencies do happen, though, so if you're in that situation please reach out to support and we can remove the strike.

If you have an emergency come up during a shift and you need to leave early, please let your shift manager know so that they can approve it and avoid the poor rating. Unfortunately, some companies are occasionally unfair in their ratings of workers. Companies have no incentive to rate workers poorly, so we haven't found it to be a common issue, but it still does happen. If you believe that's the case, we're eager to investigate it; we don't want companies being unfair to workers.

Finally, regarding the work experience scrolling issue, I'm very sorry about that. The 2.6.0 release introduced a number of major changes (mostly behind-the-scenes) and that bug slipped through. We discovered and fixed it quickly in 2.6.1, but Apple shuts down App Store submission approvals during the holidays, so it didn't get approved and go live until yesterday. If you notice any other bugs, please let us know and we'll get them fixed as soon as possible. We usually try to get a release out every 1-2 weeks, but will absolutely rush a patch out sooner if there's a serious issue.

Thank you again for your review, and for sharing your experience so honestly!

Not an ideal, temporary work app. Just heartache at the end of doing your very best for Bacon appl

It sounds like there are significant frustrations with the Bacon app's current operations, particularly regarding the job placement process and the management of temporary workers. Key issues include: 1. **Competitive Job Market**: Jobs fill up extremely quickly, often within seconds, making it difficult for high-rated workers to secure shifts despite their qualifications. 2. **Bacon Score System**: The scoring system seems to negatively impact workers who are unable to secure shifts frequently, leading to decreased scores through no fault of their own. 3. **Favoritism and Shift Coordination**: There are concerns about favoritism among shift coordinators, leading to a lack of fairness in shift assignments. This may create an environment where only certain workers are consistently called for available shifts. 4. **Lack of Support**: The reliance on automated support rather than dedicated personnel to address issues leaves temporary employees feeling unsupported and frustrated when problems arise. These issues highlight a need for better management practices and support systems within the app to ensure fair treatment and improved user experience for temporary workers. If these problems persist, it may lead to decreased satisfaction and retention among users of the platform.
