1/2 disappointed,1/2 satisfied
It gives you more of a challenge now that you can't aim manually where the balls will be going. You have to wait and shoot at the right time at the moving blocks, which by the way also increases in difficulty. The right angle blocks are also nice. Now there's a ways to angle your shots to get that perfect... angle shot. However, unlike Ballz, the balls are essentially like a snake object, it moves wherever the balls takes it. So it'd be a really huge waste to hit a 1 block because everything will go back to the bottom and waste your time. It's not continuously moving so you'd need to have the balls shot in a perfect angle to hit anything as much as possible, which to me is sorta disappointing. I liked it better when the balls would just bounce all over the screen. It was very satisfying. I know there's a power up that let's me do exactly that, but it's not the same as doing it throughout the entire game. It should at least be a separate game mode so that it could have more variety to it. Overall, this game is fun but it definitely needs more to it.
Promising, but not fully there.
I enjoyed the game at first until I realized that no matter how many balls you have built up in your shooter they will only count as 1 if only hitting a 1 block. In other words, instead of one ball bouncing back while the other kept going they all bounce back which was very disappointing. The game is not mathematically sound which bugged me, as well as the game not giving the chance for the balls to come back to the shooter before a block hits the cutoff line taking away the possibility of the balls reaching that block to eliminate it. The power ups were cool and added variation to the game as well as the triangular blocks, but overall disappointed with the game.
Please just fix the original Ballz
I’m baffled. The original Ballz is an almost perfect game. Why is Ketchapp making rhinestones when they have a dusty diamond sitting in the back? There’s already a review on Ballz telling you quite clearly what needs to be fixed about it but that game seems to have been entirely abandoned which is why I’m writing here and not on the original.
I’m begging you as a fan who has paid you money to revisit the original Ballz. Don’t change any of the physics. Just give the player full or at least significantly more control over the ball speed so that turns don’t take way too long late in the game. If you want to be more ambitious, I wouldn’t mind having triangular blocks in Ballz as it advertises and I think adding SEPARATE game modes with slightly different mechanics and features (but the same physics) would be great. But I and many others would be delighted if you would just fix the ball speed problem.
