With Bank Austria’s MobileBanking app, Internetbanking you can now settle your banking business via smartphone whenever you want and wherever you are. Highest security standards and the option of biometric authentication protect your privacy for your daily banking.

• Financial overview: The quick overview of your finances
• Financial Manager: Get a detailed breakdown and presentation of your income and expenditure.
• Account information and account statements: Request your account information simply and clearly.
• Bank transfers: Sign domestic and foreign bank transfers, personal transfers, tax office payments and standing orders
• Trading: Buy and sell securities
• Order archive: Find completed orders in the order archive and convert them into a PDF at any time.
• Limits: Manage limits and settings of your debit cards as well as the online card blocking.

• Biometric Login: Log in securely with Face ID/Touch ID
• Photo transfer: Transfer bills simply by taking a photo of your bills - easy and without typing.

BankAustria app
Too much information asked for (kind of ridiculous to have to scan the hologram on the back of your DR card). “ATC number”: no explanation; had to call your hotline. Hotline: no choice of languages (very minimum, besides German: English). Automated Answering svc: individual segments too long, somewhat difficult to understand. No shortcuts to a human (such as: “to talk to one of our svc reps, push 9” or something like that). My answers (such as a simple “ja”) obviously were not understood (svc had to rerun the tape several times). Hotline—- Human: Finally was connected to a human: Mr Kostić. Most helpful. Took plenty of his time to take me step by step through the process. Great help with assigning temporary ATC. Very easy to understand (we spoke in German, a few words in English), very polite, very patient. That’s what I call perfect customer service. Dr Dieter Jettmar 1-Sep 21:04 MESZ

Activating the app is a security-critical process. We are using a new innovative method to ensure that you are in physical possession of a Bank Austria bank card in order to secure your identity.
The scan of the certificate of authenticity on the bank card protects our customers from fraudulent activities, so we ask for your understanding for this measure.

Clunky and out of date
Quite a few notches below other Banks’ online portals. Not boosting Bank Austria’s image...
Security
This app is more of a security risk than a security enhancement, with my name and data splashed across the home page and protected by only the thin barrier of a password, easily hacked by con artists.
Before, with the traditional TAN sent by sms, I was A LOT more protected because there was NOTHING to hack on my phone: no data, no identifiers, not even my real name.
I think I’ll soon return to the old system, even if I have to send 30 transfers to settle my rent every month. Or I may set up an automatic withdrawal system.
I resent this unnecessary and intrusive app.
