What’s New

Version 7.2.2

This release fixes a nasty issue where the app could crash when migrating documents from older versions. We also addressed an issue with tags not showing up in the transaction list. Last but not least, we addressed an issue where security holdings would show $0.00 sometimes.

First, I purchased the banktivity ipad app last summer and less than 6 months after purchasing they ‘upgrade’ to version 4 and publish it in the App Store as a separate program that you have to pay for again.

Now for the App itself - I bought it expecting it to be an iPad version of the desktop app, but it most definitely is *NOT!* it lacks many of the features that the desktop version does. The interface is not intuitive and it’s hard to figure out many features. Finally there is no manual and not even an online support site. If you try to look up anything, all you get are tips for the desktop version which are virtually never helpful. This is priced and marketed as a full budgeting app for the iPad, but in reality it is just a glorified companion app for the desktop version. If you are looking for a budgeting app for the iPad, keep searching. If you have the desktop version and want to check in on your iPad then this will probably work fine for you.

I will say that support is helpful and responsive. I just wish the programming team was as good as the support team.

Extremely disappointed!

I have been using IGG software for my Mac (iBank, then Banktivity) since it first came out. I loved iBank, and when it wasn’t updated anymore, went with Banktivity. Despite some differences, I adjusted and grew to like it. I purchased the iPhone version, which makes adding transactions on the fly fairly nice. Since I am away from my computer a lot these days, I thought I would purchase the iPad version, thinking I would be able to do all that I can do on my computer. Wrong! It does not mirror the same features and will not allow me to do the ONE thing that is most important to me- reconcile! I don’t use all of the other bells and whistle things- like envelopes, etc. I just like doing basics. I find it hard to believe that developers would devote so much time and energy into creating frills and forget to include basic pieces to an app like reconciliations and reports. What a bummer that I’ve now invested over $100 for apps that don’t really translate across platforms! Actually, I kinda think that for the price of the Mac version, the IOS apps should be free- especially since they are lacking key features. Going to try to get my money back- although I was told from “chat” that IGG can’t process that. Have to go through iTunes. Sincerely hope that IGG doesn’t charge in the future for updates!

We do appreciate your feedback and are listening. I've added a vote to this feature request. In the meantime, please contact us at media at iggsoftware.com if iTunes/Apple didn't refund you. - IGG

Not worth the price as a standalone app-cost/value dissapointing

I was shocked to see the $20 price tag, more shocked I paid it to give it a try. Had not used since 2015. While the ability to personalize categories is nice, and envelope budgeting may appeal to some, after a few weeks of use I am going back to Mint. Some shortfalls: "real" account balance is not visible, only the calculated value based on downloaded transactions. Budgets, once input, are only visible for the current month. No way to "sanity check" that the other months were input correctly. No visibility to all transactions in a current month for all accounts, have to look account by account. No visibility to pending transactions from Chase Bank. Mint seems to update accounts on a more regular basis within the day. No ability to print any kind of summary reports. I suspect this is a great companion app for Mac users that use the full program, but as a standalone app, Mint provides a similar, and in some cases more robust solution for no charge (albeit some limited ads in IOS versions.) Support as of late is very slow to non existant.
