Fantastic App!

As soon as the clinic recommended this app to teach food intake even six months prior to my scheduled surgery, I downloaded and started using it. Even though I’ve successfully lost weight four times previously (I’m horrible at keeping it off) I had never tracked my food intake and considered it a waste of time - that was until I started using this app. It has been so helpful and informative in helping me lose weight prior to surgery and I’m convinced it will be a critical tool to use after surgery. I am able to view my caloric, water, and other macronutrient intake with informative graphs. I am easily able to enter information into the app and it does the rest. Remarkable! With this app I can clearly see how many calories per day I’m taking in and on my Apple Watch I can clearly see how many calories I’m burning up. I have compared this with other subscription apps and this one is superior and, for now, it is FREE! I only wish the hospital I’m associated with worked directly with this app.

Great app overall-lacking a very important feature

Overall this is one of the better tracking apps. The barcode scan works great, and if it doesn’t recognize something, will have you send a pic of the nutrition label so they can add it to their database

The feature to add your own recipes needs a lot of work. Adding foods by barcode works nicely, but the portion size does not show correctly on the confirmation screen. Typing in ingredients leaves you at the mercy of their software how a food is listed in their database. For example, if you enter “Beyond Sausage”, it only “sees” sausage and calculates for that. You need to know that the database calls it “plant-based sausage, hot Italian”. I can work around those issues though. However the biggest deficiency is that once you Save a recipe to your recipes, you can never go back to edit it. Say you make meatloaf with 85/15 burger one time, but 93/7 the next. Or you decide to skip the yogurt in your usual smoothie recipe. There is no way to go back to a saved recipe and tweak the ingredients. You have to re-enter the whole recipe again. This is a dealbreaker for me, since I never cook anything the same way twice.

Love the vitamin tracking for all my post surgery requirements. Make the recipe feature editable after saving and I’ll go back immediately

Cumbersome

While this app is designed to help bariatric patients the functionality is basic. I cannot for the life of me figure out why this app would not interact with or be compatible with MyFitnessPal. The 2 most irritating features is the inability to log food in a quick and concise manor and the inability to properly log workouts. I have to go on MyFitnessPal and then copy the information in this app. It does not make we want to log anything. Most times the food I want to log is not even in this app which is goofy. I don’t want to spend 15 minutes trying to figure out how to log a meal. That’s ridiculous!
2nd if this app interacts or has a plugin with the Apple Health app then why doesn’t it log the workouts properly. It haphazardly logs a workout. There is not calories from workout taken into consideration or even track for that matter. My daily activity doesn’t show on my report. My active calories burned and exercise does not even make it to my doctor for an accurate picture. Since I’m forced to use this app instead of MyFitnessPal by my doctor I prefer it to be complete with similar functionality. Please fix these plugins.
