Description
Discover the ultimate tool for tracking atmospheric pressure with Barograph, the original barometer data logger app designed specifically for iPhone and iPad. Whether you’re a weather enthusiast, an outdoor adventurer, or simply curious about atmospheric changes, Barograph offers powerful features to measure and analyze air pressure in real-time.
Key Features:
•Real-Time Atmospheric Pressure Monitoring: Instantly measure atmospheric pressure and watch dynamic graphs showing pressure changes over time. Choose from units like kPa, mbar, hPa, or inHg.
•Background Data Logging: Utilize “Background App Refresh” to continuously collect barometric pressure data, even when the app is not actively in use. Never miss a pressure change!
•Sea Level Adjusted Pressure: Monitor sea level adjusted pressure with precise calculations from your iPhone’s barometer and local weather data.
•Altitude Display: View your relative altitude based on barometer readings, available in meters or feet, perfect for tracking elevation changes during hikes or flights.
•Push Notifications: Stay informed with periodic notifications that provide atmospheric pressure values and trends, ensuring you’re always aware of significant changes.
•Data Export: Easily share your barometer data in CSV format for further analysis or to share with friends and colleagues.
Use Cases:
•Weather Prediction: Track weather systems and anticipate changes. A dropping pressure generally indicates rain is approaching.
•Elevation Tracking: Observe how atmospheric pressure changes with elevation, ideal for hikers, pilots, and outdoor enthusiasts.
•Scientific Research: Gather detailed barometric pressure data for educational or research purposes, with seamless data export for comprehensive analysis.

Ratings and Reviews
Motion & fitness settings?
Hi there, and congrats on the major rewrite!
In the most recent update (version 2.7 build 3), the app doesn’t work at all without access to motion & fitness settings, which I don’t enable for privacy reasons.
Would it be possible to add a setting option that would disable whatever new functionality requires access to motion&fitness? The app worked well enough for my purposes without it. Thanks.
Developer Response ,
Unfortunately, Apple no longer allows access to the barometer with motion and fitness turned off. It’s a requirement in the latest version of iOS so any future versions of Barograph going forward need to request this permission. ;(
I think the reason is the intended use of the barometer is to track elevation on hikes and Apple doesn’t really consider the weather use case. The Barometer is actually part of the “CoreMotion” library.
I promise you that I don’t collect any information related to motion and fitness. I only request the permission to collect Barometer data. And unless you use the sea level feature, I won’t request location permissions.
Please email me if you want to discuss it in more detail.
Vital tool!
First, I’m not the traditional user of this app. I’ve been using it to track the the pressure and changes throughout the day and week and how it effects my migraines. This has been a simple and vital tool in helping to prepare as well as give “reason” to why symptoms of migraine randomly start to crop up. “Oh look! The pressure has changed dramatically! No wonder I feel awful!”
Along with this I’ve been able to see the elevation difference between home, work, in-laws (never pressure there 🤪), and vacation locations.
My only wish would be a way to zoom in on the table to see the data. My chart is rather large since I don’t refresh or close the app.
Solid functionality, great recent updates
Barograph has surfaced barometric pressure sensor data from way back when the first device (iPhone 6) offered this sensor.
Its high sensitivity is very impressive. I love the ability to set alarms at specific pressure values, and to display figures in a huge variety of units.
Updates have been coming regularly now and the app keeps getting better. Can’t wait to see what comes next!
