I have been a subscriber of Barry Greene’s video lessons for many years. I also have had the opportunity to experience both Skype and n person lessons with Barry. The lessons cover all aspects of jazz guitar. They are absolutely excellent. Barry is not only a guitar virtuoso, but also a great educator. His expertise in explaining even the most difficult concepts is unparalleled. He makes every lesson topic accessible to guitarists of all levels. Anyone interested in serious study of the guitar owe it to themselves to subscribe to the BGVL website. There just isn’t a better resource available.
Great App, Great Player, Great Teacher
Barry Greene is an extremely talented jazz guitarist and very effective teacher. The wealth of information contained on the site is incredible. The tune based lessons cover a wide variety of the best jazz guitar standards. He instructs on the details of the song structure, how to approach soloing, provides example licks, and then plays the song at the end. In my opinion, it is worth the price of subscription just to watch him play on these lessons and on the BGVL Live sessions, it’s like having a live feed into a great jazz club. Also, the app works great, easy to use and intuitive set up.
Totally what I was looking for and needed.
Barry’s video lessons are hitting the spot for me. Often a challenge for sure but well worth the investment of money and time. Each video is full of more then you can absorb in several days, maybe even weeks. I am looking forward to this time next year when I have had time to incorporate the techniques, theory, riffs and chops into my everyday playing style. If you are in a rut and are at least a moderately proficient guitarist you are gonna love the Barry Greene Video Lessons. Just jump in and start swimming!!
