Ratings and Reviews
A really solid game
I have to disagree with the majority of the complaints about this game. Healing is very easy... you just need to rotate in a few different characters and it is seamless. Not to mention, I am playing on hard and I have an excess of gold and potions/food. The complaint about new characters being under leveled also doesn’t make sense to me. I am at the end of the game, using all end game characters, and they are all max level (I didn’t go out of my way to level them). I believe the developers did a great job with the scaling. Also, the characters you get later in the game are stronger than earlier ones, even at lower levels. First ever review for me, I just think we need more quality games like this and I don’t think people should be turned off by the negative reviews.
This is an AMAZING RPG !!
Update:
I completed the game (18 hours game time) and....I freak'n LOVED IT!!
The leveling issues became less and less of a challenge and when I was at the final boss I could have chosen any of 7-8 high level companions to fight with.
This was an epic gaming experience and k truly enjoyed it.
I'd give it 6 stars if I could.
Well done!!!
Old review:
First of - this IS a really good RPG. the batte mechanics are for sure the star of the game but I really like the graphics and semi-open world feel of it.
There are some challenges though; I would love a virtual d-pad, the dragging/clicking just isn’t ideal. Secondly i wish I could turn off the sound that the game makes you click-to-walk or interact with anything - that sound becomes real annoying fast. Lastly the leveling of characters IS an issue. I have some lvl 1/2 that I simply can never see myself being able to level up. I wish areas you cleared would repopulate with mobs. The timers on the arena is also way too long for it to be used as a leveling tool.
Apart from that this is a really enjoyable game. I bought it when it was at sale for $1.99 and after 6-7 hours in it I have certainly gotten my money’s worth.
I hope there will be additional content added or a sequel.
So close
This could easily be a 5-star game. The cute j-style art usually puts me off, but the sketchy story is ... adequate, and the battles are intense enough to require your full attention. The art grew on me.
However: you constantly meet new level 1 characters to add and rotate, while the opponents scale up rapidly. The fix would be either to have all characters scale up together or, as I would much prefer, have the opponents respawn, so we can grind new characters. This would make a small game feel much larger, as well. It would also offset the tedious health recovery, because we could actually play the team we rotate in while the other characters heal offscreen.
Also, with respawning, the chests need to refill so we can buy recovery foods at a rate commensurate with increased consumption.
Thank you for considering these suggestions.
