What’s New

Version 2.11.0

- Improved search responses.
- Migrate to new eBay API.

- As this uses a new eBay API you may notice a difference in the items returned (this usually means more items).
- Worldwide search is now the default, hence it is no longer in the search options. You can limit to specific country within individual search settings.
- The concept of Top Rated Seller as was is no longer available, so has been removed from the search options.
- The start time of listings is no longer shown in results. Like the website, this is no longer supplied in the API.

Thank you for using BayWatch.

The real Wolfman ,

Bottom line: it serves the purpose

So there’s something you really want to find but can’t sit in front of your browser all day long. BayWatch will find it. It’s simple and allows you to utilize all of eBay’s filters to narrow your search. Done.
What a thrill it is to hear that little “ping” and see what the app has found! Just wish it would tell you in the notification but currently you have to open the app to see which search produced results. To determine it, you must search (and squint) for a tiny little red number within your list, so the interface is not quite as user friendly as it could be. Also, you can’t select the notification sound, which tends to be the same one a LOT of other apps use, so sometimes you’ll get a feeling of false alarm.
Perhaps the most helpful feature that’s missing is you can’t label your searches. Instead, the app simply lists your search word(s), so if you’re searching, for example, for several different parts by a cryptic model number, you have to remember what goes to what without an opportunity to notate.
Overall though, the app is the best I’ve found for the purpose!

Thank you for taking the time to leave your thoughtful review. I am really delighted to hear that BayWatch helps you so much.
On the aspect of looking for new items and looking for the red number, are you aware that the left of the search in the table highlights in red too? Also, if you look in Settings at the top, there is an option 'Show new items first (watches)'. If you select this, then any watches with new items will show at the top of your list. Hopefully these two affordances will help.
Feel free to reach out to me at and mention this review I will be happy to discuss further.
Thanks again.

Why Not Have This Running??

I’ve found this to be very helpful. But I’ve learned that you MUST have a few separate “watches” going, using different sets of keywords for the same item you’re looking for... At least for me it’s really helped to yield a lot more reliable results, and I figured this out by noticing that when I entered a bunch of keywords into a “watch” for an item, when I reviewed the results that already existed on EBay, there were listings missing that I knew were active at that moment, and for the same item I was trying to lookout for. So I removed some keywords and added others into a new “watch”, and then I saw the missing listings show up in this app. So now I just have like three or four different “watches” going at the same time for the same item I’m looking for, just using a variety of keywords, and now I seem to get notified just about every time the item I’m looking for gets listed. Also, for some reason I can’t see what I’m typing right now, so please excuse what are probably many errors...

Thank you for taking the time to leave your kind review. I am glad that BayWatch is helping you find the items you want. On the keywords aspect, if you add multiple keywords, then by default, all must exist in the title (unless you elect the entire listing). You may want to take a look here at the advanced search operators (which are eBay's operators) Thanks again.

Love this app, so much better than official eBay app

If you follow a ton of saved searches, do yourself a favor and give BayWatch a try.

The saved searched are easily configured in a single screen that has the most important options when you buy often (local only, price range, excluded word filter, etc.), and it informs you within minutes of new listings.

You can then either delete found items so you don’t have to review over and over again, or watch them.

While the app could use some more visual polish I found it very stable and working great; already found a bunch of great deals with newly listed items.

The monthly fees for are definitely worth it if you are more than an occasional eBay buyer or if you’re looking for a great deal for a specific item that’s normally pricey.

I have written in to the developer and they were responsive and friendly. Hope some features in the future include iCloud sync so you can browse the same stuff on multiple devices as well as small tweaks to the UI, like a “delete all” for search results.

Developer Response ,

Thanks for taking the time to leave a nice and objective review. I will be looking at your ideas for a future version of BayWatch. As for the polish, hopefully I can address that too in the next major update that I have planned. Thanks once again.
