The BBVA Mobile Banking App has already been named a ‘Leader’ by Javelin Strategy & Research in its Mobile Banking Scorecard six times in a row, but it just got better! Version 9.0 has been completely redesigned to give you faster access to the features that you already love and need, all with a fresh look and feel, both in English and Spanish.

Better Navigation: The new main navigation bar allows you to quickly access the most used features from all key areas of the app easily from the bottom of most screens. Plus, when navigating through your accounts, the new quick action bars will allow you to manage your accounts and customize features in less taps.

Transaction Details: See more clearly how a transaction has impacted your available balance, with improved details for posted and pending transactions. We have also added a warning badge to let you know if a transaction has been posted against insufficient funds.

Improved Dashboard: See all of your accounts and cards, from BBVA and other financial institutions, in one place for a full financial picture.

Terrible service when you experience bounced check

It is all good until you get a bounced check. I used it for the past month to make mobile deposit. I saw a returned check charge back and financial service fee associated with it. The problem? You cannot tell which mobile deposit was returned? Not even if you log into online service. I had to call customer service. They could not tell either and had to do research on that for about 30 min to figure it out. The worst part they cannot even give me any proof of it. It took the power of congress and they finally agreed to send me a letter to prove it. Total time spent for me: 47 minutes on the phone for $10 returned check. The customer service even suggested me showing my account history to the person ti prove the returned check. How ridiculous is that? Imaging if you need to take the person to court or returned check authority it is nearly impossible if you have to deal with a large check. So use it for mobile deposit at your own risk. They do not have this disclosure. I am not going to use it anymore!

The worst app I’ve ever been on

I have a car loan with this bank and I tried and sign up on this app. And it was maddening, I filled out the fields and came to the security questions and there was some kind of glitch so I tried and tried to finish the enrollment and it wouldn’t go through so I went back to start over and it said I already had an account so I tried and sign in and no good it kept bouncing me back and forth until I finally had to call to straighten it out and in my 3rd call and waiting literally over 1 hour each time I got someone who help me finish it once on the app it’s very confusing like choosing the paperless statements option is unbelievably hard to understand there’s a toggle but it isn’t clearly marked for your choice and it says turn the toggle on to turn off paper statements and visa versa? Huh? I have no clue which option I picked because it’s so confusingly marked, then I added my account to scheduled payments I paid double the payment and was 3 days early I got a call today saying I was late on my payment even though the money is gone from my account and it showed on my app I paid with a reference number and everything they couldn’t see it on the phone and they said they never even had my email on file also the people whom they have working support/customer service are the worst ever they have no idea what they are doing or what they are talking about this app is easily the worst app I’ve ever had to use and this bank is horrible

Took me awhile to verify my identity. I called customer service but that still didn’t make a difference. I got my card and I could use my debit pin to verify. They sent my pin in the mail. I actually forgot about this part because I activated over the phone and I was able to select my own pin. Which never worked. I found the paper with the pin. Then I was able to verify my identity on the app. This process could’ve been more straight forward. I kept getting notified to call customer service to verify my identity but it didn’t help with my app issue. I tried to do text codes but it didn’t work because they wanted me to call. So it was a cycle until I could verify with my debit pin.

Also, I’d love to see a feature where when you transfer money, you can see each accounts balance even when it says how much to transfer. It shows only the accounts and not the amount in the account currently. So I may have to remember what amount to move over if I want to move the full amount in an account over to another. I only ask this because I had this with my credit Union and it made it simple to know what I had available and how much to move.

So far I’m loving BBVA and I appreciate them. I can’t wait to see how things work when the merge is complete with PNC. Thank you, BBVA!
