Better than the rest
I have tried the official app, narwhal, and Apolo but was dissatisfied with being shown sponsored ads, poor interface, and not being able to add more than 1 account without paying more. I came across Beam while transferring phones and searching for a new reddit app.
It’s criminal how far down I scrolled to find this when searching “reddit” on the App Store. It’s definitely the best Reddit client I’ve used. I’m happy with the layout, the ease of use, and customizable design that Beam offers. Being open source is just another plus. Two thumbs up
Best. Looking. Reddit. App. Period. Makes browsing and using Reddit a breeze and a real pleasure. Well done I purchased the Display pick just to support these fantastic devs
Update: Still BY FAR the best reddit app, I have no idea why it isn’t popular at all... makes reddit seem less reddit-y and more accessible to the masses. I’m all for it, I hate typical reddit apps they remind me of the website (which I can barely look at I find it so repulsive and horrible to use) but this app is different!
The glitches outweigh the good
I browse reddit almost daily, and I've been looking for a new 3rd party reddit application since Narwhal wasn't good enough. I tried out Beam, and it was pretty great. Most of the features work as intended. Most of the features. Sometimes when you long tap a photo, it freezes for a few seconds, and you never get to save it. Sometimes when you're browsing reddit, it freezes and NEVER unfreezes until you close the app and reopen it.
If the glitches are fixed, go ahead. Give it a try. But for now, the app is too broken to stand on its two feet.
