Description

Media prophet Marshal McLuhan once said “everybody at the speed of light tends to become a nobody.” This explains the intense drive we now have to express ourselves as individuals in virtual space.

Electronic media accelerates both the desire and ability to leave traces of ourselves everywhere. It’s the reason so many people sought social media in the first place. But why so many of us are increasingly fed up with its massification and lack of meaning.

Social media apps force us into one environment - theirs.

Yet when it comes down to it, the the things we really care about are mostly found in the places we call home - where we live, the neighborhoods we walk daily, the community we feel a part of, and the natural beauty around us within about a 15 minute walk.

Beaming is a mobile app that allows its members to build relationships around the places we call home by enabling you to share any kind of media file... at any physical location... for any period of time you define...

Surprise your boyfriend with a photo at your doorstep.

Be surprised when the next door neighbor announces his first son was born as you pass by...

Discover the game clues you need to find a hidden prize.

Or just leave a note for yourself to buy milk at the grocery store.

Here’s how it works...
1. Pick any kind of media file and a start and expiration date
2. Define the area where you want to leave the file triggering a push notification when your friends pass by
3. Then create relationships around that place by streaming it to the people or groups you care about most.

Beaming is a social media app that deepens the connections we have with the places we call home by leaving digital footprints in our tracks - memories or just reminders, for yourself and to share with others.
