Great navigation tool!

Got the Moto through kickstarter and absolutely love it. Used it for years while living in Germany. The genius is in the simplicity of it; it just works (although it takes a couple of uses to get used to the timing and whatnot, but once figured out…bravo)!

My only gripe (albeit a very small one) is the underlying navigation engine used (google maps?), it is slow to update construction/closures/hazards which had led me to a couple of frustrating moments on the road. I think if the programmers were to use something that’s relatively real-time, such Waze instead, it would be a 10/10 product! Overall, very very highly recommended for motorcycle riders looking for a simple, small, intuitive navigation device that just plain works and gives you flexibility to search the less traveled roads yet still get you to the destination. Very happy with mine 😏

Not ready for city biking

There is promise with this device. With future firmware upgrades, functionality is likely to be added that will make this device usable for the common city rider. Today I would not recommend it to other than early adopters. I have used it for about 150 miles of biking in central London. City streets are far too complex to rely on navigation from this device. I am continually riding past my turns. I don’t know if that due to a slow processor, poor GPS signal in city canyons, missing cues on the interface, or a combination of those. You have to keep going back and relying on a map app on your phone, which negates having the device in the first place. If I have to keep relying on my phone, there is no real use for the device. I look forward to trying it on country roads where there is less complexity, and the device should be able to cope.

I am also hoping for better ability to map quiet routes in cities and routes that avoid crowded walkways like canal tow paths in London. The app takes me on routes that are a little scary at times. Perhaps a teaming with CycleStreets would help.

Best Motorcycle Navigation App

I’ve been riding for a decade and for the first time I finally have found an app that is intelligent in the routes that it chooses for you. The option of the “fun” or “fast” way is a simple and effective solution to an issue that all motorcyclists face when using a navigation app, I am just surprised that nobody has made such an app early. I also purchased the Beeline Moto device which is a perfect pair for this app so I don’t have to mount my phone to my handlebars, which is known to ruin phone cameras, as well as draining batteries by having the screen on for prolonged periods of time. Regardless, the app, Moto device or not, is a must have if you are looking to use your phone to get around on your motorcycle.

I like it!

This is a good app for motorcyclists. It’s great being able to go from A to B and decide whether you want to take a fast or fun route. It’s easy to make your own rides and plot points on the route. Other apps do this, but they require subscriptions. The actual navigation itself is pretty simple which is good. Only done a couple of rides so far, but i like the simplicity. Using my phone at the minute, but if this continues to be a good way of navigating, I may buy the actual beeline unit. I need to test it a little more on routes where I don’t actually know where im going to see how it performs before I commit. Either way thoigh, this is now my favourite nav app for my motorcycle.

Cell phone is the week link!

This is a wonderful app 75 percent of the time. A watch app would help with usability across situational riding. The cell phone is of course the week link here. You are forced to Cary a satellite gps in addition because of lack of cell service in many areas.
The dream would be of course the unit’s ability to connect to a satellite gps for better overall reliability.
Overall this is a great product for bike’s and motorcycles.

Good device and trip planning tool

I often use this app just to plan a route. It has intuitive controls to quickly drop and move points on a map.

I do wish it had the option to add voice nav. I’ve raised that but I think there is a concern it violates the “purity of the app”. 🙄

It’s an option in the Google maps sdk. Just give us an option to turn it on.

Simply the best

I just wanted turn by turn navigation. Import from and upload to strava. And this is the only device that does that perfectly for an unbeatable price. And it does more. It’s super light, easy to mount and dismount and incredibly light. It even auto changes brightness. The beeps are perfectly audible when to make a turn.

Love the new look and feel

I have loved using the unit since I got it, but this update makes planning a trip much better. Just the ETA and route time make a HUGE difference for me. I am always planning motorbike rides and was having to leave the app and go to Apple Maps to see an approx total time before. Doing it in the app is so much easier.

Nifty Gadget, Lacking Features

The device is great, but nearly all interaction with the app needs to happen through the phone to the point that you may as well mount your phone to your handlebars. You can’t even select a destination (or change destinations) through the Beeline device.
The app and device also completely lack a “record ride” feature - something myself and many others would use.
It’s a shame such an expensive device can’t function more on its own.

Nifty

So far it works good but my main problem is that I wish it would pair with my Bluetooth so I could listen to the road directions as well as see the arrow. Sometimes I don’t have a moment to look down while I’m riding or I can’t see the dot with a quick glance and I miss my turn. My phone is always near by so it’s not really that hard if the app had it available.
