LOVE this company, can’t stand their app
We love to support the humane, organic, forward-thinking practices Belcampo uses in raising food, and shopped their store in Emeryville before COVID, but this app stinks. I use it begrudgingly, because I want their products and they offer free delivery. The app doesn’t remember your cart, half the time doesn’t work, is hard and slow to navigate, and the rewards are neat but difficult to apply to an order. We love you Belcampo, but this app needs help.
Weird browser in an iOS app
Very odd workflow in this app. Which, is really a “single-site browser”. It doesn’t seem to allow entry of “my address”, and insists on feeding my location to Google Maps, and then gets the wrong address anyway. And if I’m interacting with a website, not an app, why can’t I just place the order on my computer where I can see what I’m doing more easily?
While choosing items to order, I did something to lead to reloading the site/page. This then took me right back through the same “provide an address via google”, “pick a delivery time”, bla bla, that I had already just done a minute ago. Needing to scroll thru many screenfuls (again, why must I do this on my little phone screen‽) to select options for order items is clumsy and unnecessary.
And, in that it hands the order off to Postmates, it doesn’t appear there’s any way to monitor order progress. My location is not easy to find, and I find it very useful to know when the courier is actually arriving.
Whatever. If the food is awesome, perhaps I’ll be a repeat customer. If not, well, whatever: there are so many other choices to pick from.
Stop building apps when a mobile experience will suffice
I hate hate hate to be forced to litter my phone with apps that I may use at most a handful of times a year.. I love eating Belcampo but I have no need to it to be an app since I only plan to make it an occasional habit.. if I are there once a week sure that’d make sense.. then to make me download an app, go through a super awkward required sign up flow and THEN everything be done in what is almost certainly a mobile browser flow stuffed into an app is f’in ridiculous. Will be deleted the app and re-downloading every time I want to make a purchase or likely will just walk right in cuz this app is stupidity...
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
