I rarely write reviews but I think everyone who suffers from Tinnitus should consider trying this. I stumbled on the name of this app as I researched the condition and ways to deal with it. At times the condition is truly maddening and I needed a way to manage it so I figured it was worth a try. Admittedly I have not tried any others because this app worked absolutely great! There are multiple sounds that you can listen to in order to drown out that sickening inner ear noise or you can make up a combination of them that works for you. If needed, it has a timer to shut off the sounds if you happen to need it to help you fall asleep. I truly appreciate having this app available. Since it’s on my cell phone I have it with me at all times when the surrounding noises just aren’t enough.
I've been an iOS user since the beginning, over seven years ago. That said, this is the first review I've ever written on the App Store and after only a few minutes this app prompted me to break my long silence. I've been suffering from tinnitus for 20 years and I've tried every known remedy available to me. I wasn't sure how effective this app would be be, but my first thought was "it's free, it can't hurt". After a few minutes of use, it became very clear that the creators of this app actually cared about the people they were creating it for. So far, it's much better than the paid apps I've been using for 5 or 6 years now. I'm left feeling grateful to Beltone for creating this app. It feels like this was someone's labor of love and, well, I feel loved.
I use this app for tinnitus relief, but it is also quite useful for entering and maintaining flow states (such as studying or deep work) as well as isolating, diminishing, and masking outside noise distractions. I use this app religiously with AirPods and Bluetooth speakers, which provide different sound environments depending on how you customize your soundscapes. Best of all, the app is FREE with no ads, and while that may not be in Beltone's immediate financial interest, it does make me more likely to choose Beltone for my hearing needs, which will soon need to be addressed as I have familial hearing loss. I cannot recommend this app enough.
My tinnitus is horrible and hard to deal with it gets me feeling very depressed and hopeless at time especially at night when all I can do is think about it. Since I’ve found this app it’s given me a better outlook on being able to manage the awful ringing noise. This is the only app I’ve seen that lets you customize your own sleep sound completely and allows you to find the perfect combination of things to properly drown out your tinnitus. I’m just so glad it’s free as well!
All the soundscapes that come preinstalled disappeared today. I had to delete and re-download the app today. All of them were there just before I delete the app. All of them were gone after I re-downloaded it. I also lost the two soundscapes that I created on my own. However, It’s the preinstalled ones that I used most of the time. I hardly ever used the two that I created. This app is useless to me without the Beltone preinstalled soundscapes. Why did Beltone remove them? Can Beltone put them back?
Hi SouldMan,Please delete the app and reinstall the latest version (5.2.5) of Beltone Tinnitus Calmer. If you have iCloud backup enabled, all soundscapes should have been stored there and re-populate your app after you re-install.Best,Beltone Tinnitus Calmer app team
I was caught up in a large explosion caused by a miscalculation by the LAPD Bomb squad recently. I now suffer from ringing in my ears and this little app helps mask it better than anything the doctors have tried. I also had lots of useful tips. It’s free too. When I finally need hearing aids I will definitely use there’s. It says a lot about a company that is willing to help with a handy little app and provide it for free. The are obviously good business people knowing that a little free service now will attract a life long loyal customer later.
