Best Rename X 4+

needed to make a lot of random images congruent, took some fiddling but was able to do exactly what i wanted (after buying 3 different apps) this one worked the best - well done!

I couldn’t figure out how to get Finder or Automator to do what I needed. Finder’s ‘format’ option inside its ‘rename' utility will add an index pattern to a list of files, but my list already had an index pattern. That pattern was exactly what needed changing. I wish I could show a screen capture of what you see inside the Best Rename X dialog box. You interactively build a new filename structure, and you see two complete lists: the existing forms and the candidate forms. You know exactly what the whole changed list will look like before you press the button. It’s difficult to imagine all the weird contingencies that might come up in future, but right now I can’t foresee needing anything in the way of file renaming that Best Rename X could not provide.

My OS X is 10.10.

The app just does not work. You go all the way through the process and in the end, the filename remains the same.
The preferences window doesn’t open.
They do not offer support.
