Tim Genius ,

Great, but you can easily remove it by going to profiles & device management.

What good is setting 1 year limit if you can remove the program with Apple password?

Developer Response ,

Hi there - I appreciate your frustrated that the app has not been as helpful to you as you had hoped, but do you really think it's appropriate direct other users to potential strategies to bypass the restriction? That would seem to be hurting other people with exactly the same issue as you.

We'd appreciate it if you would edit your review to avoid harming other users.

Best regards,

Duncan Garvie

Thank you goal to block gambling comes first. It works and is appreciated. Any help for those in need is welcome. I’m grateful it’s free. Limits some access to legit sites but it’s ok. Thankful for the help. Bless the developers.

Developer Response ,

WARNING: This app redirects your browsing and data traffic through an external VPN

This app is not for the security minded. As it redirects traffic through a VPN through the user of an unsigned Apple device profile (likely in violation of App Store policies).

Don’t download this app.

While it’s intentions are good. This is a very poor way to accomplish the goal and keep users data safe.

Developer Response ,

Yes, we received your email.

The app functions in exactly the same manner as the Android app - the VPN is used to impose the restriction as there are no alternative means of achieving the same ends on mobile devices. However you are fundamentally wrong that "browsing and data" is redirected through the VPN which you would know had you thoroughly researched the function of the app before leaping to judgement.

What data we collect is clearly detailed in our privacy policy and extends no further than that which is necessary to assist users where they run into technical difficulties. Furthermore this app has already been reviewed by the Apple Development team and approved.

Posting information describing how to bypass a restriction that's intended to stop gambling addicts accessing gambling is amoral stupidity. You actually can fundamentally destroy lives doing something like this. (And this particular loop hole will be addressed in the coming weeks anyway).

If you don't trust our service that is absolutely fine, but for many of the users that this app is actually targeted at - rather than tech heads like yourself - their priority has to be putting barriers between themselves and access to gambling. Actively discouraging users from seeking help is in jaw droppingly poor form.
