** As FEATURED by Apple in “New Apps We Love” **
This is a different kind of notes app. Simpler. Smarter. Better.
You can type #hashtags into your notes to organize them.
#hashtags link all the tagged notes together—tap on any to see them all.
We'll find any phone numbers, email addresses, or links in your notes, too, and you can tap on those to call, email, or go to the web.
A dash and then a space makes a list—you can tap the dash later to cross things off.
Attach #photos of things you’d like to remember—receipts, screenshots of directions, shoes in a shoe store. Whatever makes sense for you. Tap little photos to make ‘em bigger. Swipe down on big photos to make ‘em smaller.
We hope this app helps you capture the thoughts that are important to you—thank you so much for giving it a try.
- updates for iPhone X, XS, and XR
- now you can pin frequently used #hashtags to the menu for easy access. Just swipe from the left to open.
- delete something by accident? You'll now find it in your archived notes!
Ratings and Reviews
Best app for thoughts and ideas!
First review ever for an app! But it’s because I enjoy Better Notes so much that I wanted to share my experience on it. It’s actually perfect for me! I love the simplicity of the design as well as how incredibly easy it is to use. It feels very natural. I get random thoughts and ideas in my head all the time and at random times of the day as well and Better Notes makes it very easy for me to put down those thoughts and ideas. I’ve tried other note-taking apps and it just doesn’t compare to Better Notes because they all feel too complicated with too many features imo. I love that when I put down my thoughts and/or ideas that everything gets separated and my thoughts and ideas aren’t all lumped into one page like all the other note apps I’ve tried. My thoughts/ideas don’t take up a whole page so it’s really nice that Better Notes formats their individual pages the size of however long my thought or idea is and without me seeing a bunch of extra space if that makes any sense lol. It’s almost like writing on a sticky note rather than a standard 8x11 paper. And lastly I LOVE that I can organize my thoughts and ideas with hashtags. I know, I know. There’s other note apps that have that feature too but Better Notes is just better to me. TO THE DEVELOPERS OF BETTER NOTES IF YOU’RE READING THIS: I wouldn’t change a single thing! There are two things I would add though: a passcode and a version to install on the Mac OS.
This app is life!
I am busy running my medical billing business from home while taking care of my toddler and normal wife/ mom tasks. Efficiency and organization are key. This app allows me to quickly jot down to a do list for both personal and professional tasks. I can keep separate lists and easily check on things when they are done. I love that I can go back and still see what I have accomplished even when I marked as complete. That is an especially handy feature for office meetings! Another thing that I love is the hashtags feature! I will never be without this app!! It's all love here!! ❤️
without Apple Pencil support why bother?
When it comes to taking notes, the whole thing is about being quick and easy (convenient). Otherwise, why not use one of the many word processing or text editing apps? There are plenty that allow hashtags, searching and more. Problem is, they’re not fast and convenient.
Then there’s the brilliance of Apple Pencil and it’s handwriting features. There are apps like GoodNotes, Notability, Note Shelf and more that utilize Apple Pencil and hand writing but again, these are major apps that must be launched and navigated. Good for serious writing but not for jotting quick notes.
I hoped this would be the missing link. It’s not. Hashtags and searching are a nice addition but without Apple Pencil integration, it’s not convenient to me. If you don’t care about that, you will probably like this app. The description is accurate.
