New to the app, so far I am enjoying the functionality of the app and the various tools and guides to better understand GOD’s word. However, online Bible Study Tools offer a translation comparison feature that I absolutely love! I hope this feature is added to the app in the future.

  • Daily Bible Readig

I have been using Bible Study Tools for over 5 years. This latest update is frustrating to use. I prefer reading the Bible chronologically but find one year reading it does not enable me to receive the full benefit of His Word. So, I have been using the Chronologically reading but take two days to read their recommended daily scripture. It is almost impossible to find the checkmark side of the site and takes way too long to do something that used to be a nonissue. The site is no longer seamless. I would also love to see a 2 year reading in the Chronological version.

  • Glitchy and has ads

I could forgive the buggy interface (half the study plans crash when you click on them). Why are there ads on an app that should just be an offline document reader? Why are there paywalls for texts and commentaries that PREDATE copyright? The only other scriptural app I've use is AccessToInsight, for Buddhists. No ads, no paywalls, just the whole canon plus a bunch of commentaries in plain text. Can't be that hard to get this kind of thing right, especially for religious texts.

  • The App

I started using this app on January the first. I have tried other apps and ended up deleting them because of the cost. Thank you for offering this for free. However, while using the app when I first started, after my first day of reading the app didn't mark my readings and the next day it told me I had no plan. After a few refreshes of the page, the plan came back. I noticed that the verse was one thing and by the time I finished reading and went back to the home page the verse for the day had changed. There might be a lag in the app as well when updating my reading sessions. When I opened it this morning it was on day four when today is day six. Despite all that I do enjoy the app and I am excited about my reading plan for this year. I hope those minor issues can be corrected.

  • Great tool BUT

I was so excited when I found this Bible study tool on line. I kind of wish I hadn't installed the app though because it's not nearly as user friendly as the actual site. I wanted the app because I didn't want to have to type in the site address every time I wanted to access the site but the app is so limited in its use compared to the site. In the site it gives options that the app doesn't give. Also when I selected my Bible and then went on to select my study plan I began to realize the version for the Bible study plan was not the version I selected as my Bible. This is extremely frustrating because I am trying to follow along with my husband and when the versions are not the same it makes it hard to follow along and keep up because it reads different. I have tried to figure out how to fix this problem but apparently there isn't a way to do so. If your not trying to follow along with someone this might be an awesome app for you but if you are please be aware that just because you select as pacific Bible doesn't mean the study plan you choose will be using that same version. Also on my iPad I noticed it won't let me change my screen direction from vertical to horizontal. It also breaks it down verse by verse rather than reading like it does in the Bible. That part really doesn't bother me as much as the other problems. Don't get me wrong the app is good but it's just not very user friendly.

Wait. What? OK, so today I was reading Psalm 5:3 and pondering the idea that king David offered sacrifices each morning and what that means for me. So I go online and find a couple of articles. One titled, “Sacrifice, in the New Testament, 1”. The browser indicates I can open this app to view it. When I tap the link, the app opens to the homepage, but not to the article. Then, the Search function is limited to searching for Scripture passages but not articles. So how can I access all the other content this app supposedly has? There seems to be lots of articles and commentaries in the app, but if they’re not searchable, they’re useless. Honestly, I’m not going to sit and read random commentaries. My study time is more focused. I use the You Version Bible app by LifeChurchTV which includes numerous translations free of charge. So I don’t need another Bible on my phone. I need study tools. This app is labeled, “Bible Study Tools”. Where are they? Why are they hard to find? Why is it not coded properly to interface with a web browser to link directly to the article or tool I’m seeking? In short, I’m confused about what this app does and how I can make it work. What’s the point of this?I’m new to the app and pretty ignorant of how to use all of it. It doesn’t seem self-explanatory, intuitive, simple to me. Perhaps an update with a tutorial or Help files menu is needed.
