Not great

Got the app and it worked great. I was very, very happy. It was so easy, just scan unlock and go. The app suddenly stopped working well. The hours of operation are 6 AM to 11 PM. I went to get a bike at 6:50 AM in the app would not work. I tried contacting customer service through WhatsApp, but they're not open till 8 AM. The map no longer shows the area in cycle stations. it also doesn't let me scan a Bike. I'm thinking it's just a glitch, but that makes me not read it five stars like I did originally. Make sure you read all the terms and condition before you get a contract. It's a great rate for the annual contract, however you have to return it every 30 minutes and then wait at least five minutes to rent it again. The late penalty is not that bad since it's only MXN $30 pesos (US $1.36) for up to 30 minutes late. there are other penalties, so read the terms and use it carefully and it will be a great deal, provided the system is working. ☹️

Great idea and locations, app quality not good.

BiciPlaya is a great service granted you have patience with the application. it frequently freezes doesn’t find the bikes. You’ll have to restart it several times. Even when you lock a bike, it doesn’t register you’ll have to log out of the app and then log back in. It’s just generally unstable. Biking around Playa is very pleasant and the bikes are in decent shape.

The service is awesome you pay less than $20 dollars and you can ride the bikes all year. The only thing you need to be careful is not to go over the 30 min limit. But, there are station all over Playa so you can easily re-rent although you can get pretty much everywhere in playa within 30 min. You can return them and pick them up at any station. Sometimes the bikes take a little time to unlock or don’t work, but you just get another bike. For me it has worked out great. I have transportation anywhere I want to go within Playa and stations all over.
