Big Clock is a simple application that displays a floating clock which can be made large enough to be easily seen from across the room. This is ideal for users who need to keep track of time at a glance while moving around at a distance from the computer's display. Big Clock's primary interface is a status item menu located in the menu bar. The clock's display can be configured via a preferences dialog. Color, transparency and size can all be adjusted.
Big Clock also can do very basic session timing and alert you at specific intervals, via your configured system alert settings. This can prompt you to make sure time is not getting away from you.
Big Clock supports following your 12hr or 24hr time display preferences configured in the System Preferences -> Locale & Region. Or, you can override this setting for specific needs.
Updates for Mojave
Fixed minor bugs.
Added menu item to center clock on screen. This is helpful if the clock goes entirely off screen.

This does exactly what I wanted, put a big clock on my screeen to remind me what time it is. The only problem is I have 2 external montitors on my Macbook pro and it doesnt remember where I put it, it constanly hops back to the upper right corner of my main screen when the mac goes to sleep or shuts down. If it would just remember where I put it it would be perfect.
Very useful without being intrusive
I find the system time display at the top right of the toolbar to be a bit too small to notice, so I’ve been looking for somethnig to better fill my needs. Big Clock is excellent and does exactly what I want. I’ve configured it to display the current time in the lower right corner of my 27” display where it doesn’t interfere with whaever apps I have open. I picked a medium lavender color that shows well against white or gray (the background of most things I ave open). The time now floats above all other windows at a size that is easy to read but doesn’t distract from whatever I’m doing.
Just about perfect
I recently started hiding my menubar for a cleaner look but missed seeing the time. So far this has been just what I've been looking for to keep a clock on my desktop. Only things I could see adding to imporove are a menubar icon, ability to show seconds, and an option to pick the typeface. But for a free app it's great and just what I was looking for. I was running a similar app but it only showed 24 hour time which I am not used to and didn't like. Glad this has the option to choose between 12 and 24. Thanks!
