GeoDefense remake...close but not quite
Pretty good, very similar to GeoDefense, but harder.
One very annoying bug so far is if I sell a tower, the game will sometimes crash, losing all the progress on that level making you start over. If they can fix that bug it’ll be much more enjoyable.
Yet another clone of geo defense, more please!
In the early days of iPhone a game called geo defense was a stand out as one of the most carefully tuned tower defense games ever. Harshly difficult yet carefully tuned to allow the player to progress, Geo defense was a masterpiece. There have been many copies since, this is the best I have so far seen. It may not have all of the care and perfection of the original, but it brings new elements and many hours of challenging gameplay. If you think it’s too hard, you were thinking space invaders instead of chess. There are a couple bugs, but they’re so minor they shouldn’t even be fixed, especially as one is kind of a bit of an Easter egg.
1st level was good but....
Now I’ve been stuck on the 2nd level trying every imaginable strategy I can think of (based off a decade of experience with TD games) over and over again. I have found that it’s impossible to beat the 2nd map, or there is only one very specific way that is not obvious. Really shouldn’t run into that kind of frustrating challenge until near a final level or something.
The balance is very poor on “Normal” difficulty at a very early point. There is no description of the towers or descriptions of enemies at all. I saw a tower list the first time I opened the app, but never again after that.
This could be a pretty cool classic TD game if they balanced things out and had decent information.
