Casual birder

There is a lot there and you can switch between languages. It is a little bit difficult to navigate and it is expensive. I think they win partially by being the only choice, at least when I bought it. Not dissatisfied and happy to have that much info on my ipad/iphone when I'm running around.

Beautiful app!

Gorgeous illustrations, well-organized. I like how it lists all species in taxonomic order, by family. The other review says there aren't descriptions and bird calls, but this is incorrect. The app does include bird calls and descriptions. Just scroll along thumbnails at bottom.

Comprehensive Coverage

Pros:
Comprehensive.
Each entry has many drawings, some photographs, a range map, and several sound recordings. Also shows nests, immatures, and fledglings in many cases.
Navigation is easy.
Only choice I found for iPad/iPod/iPhone. (Probably why the charge so much! The USA Audubon birds has twice the birds, better navigation, and costs half as much).

Cons:
Does not enable annotation or establishing your own list.
Does not have a facility to show like species.
Cost is about double what it should be.
