Description
The FUTÁR application by BKK Centre for Budapest Transport has been renewed under the name BudapestGO, which, in addition to real-time route planning, has been extended with new functions: you can buy digital single tickets, daily and weekly travelcards or passes in the application and you can also be informed immediately about the current transport service changes. You can use the route planner with a cleaner and clearer interface, facilitated by a number of new features.
New features in the app:
- Ticket and pass purchase, journey planning in a single app
- Digital single ticket now also available
- Automatic pass renewal
- Traffic information (BKK Info application integrated)
- Personalised transport updates via push message
- Trip planning for trains and suburban railways available with a BKK-pass
- Simplified interface
- You can buy local or intercity tickets and passes for most municipalities in Hungary.

Bug report
Deleting the user account leads to an invalid state where the user is seemingly still logged in. It takes a follow-up user initiated action for the app to display an error & log out properly.
+ Why is a detailed address required? OTP’s Simple app can purchase tickets without that.
+ Why is the 10 x Single Ticket discount still not available?

Under Hungarian law, you must provide your address when shopping online to receive the invoice for your purchase.
We are working to make the block of 10 tickets available in the app as soon as possible, so please wait a little longer.
Terrible system
After a bus driver refused to let me board with a cash fare in exact change despite lots of signage saying that was allowed and my having done it earlier in the day, I resorted to downloading this app. Jet lagged and with my phone battery dying, I waited eons for it to download, couldn't create an account, gave up and walked back to my hotel, exhausted. I finished the setup the following morning—had to try both Apple and Google login multiple times before I was able to create an account, which also required agreeing to all sorts of data sharing, providing my home address, credit card info (no Apple Pay), etc. I haven’t actually managed to use it yet. Person who said it’s bad for tourists is right!

Does not have alternative payment functions
App doesn't have function to pay with Pay Pal. If you are from the US your bank will ask you to confirm your payment probably using your phone number which of course won’t work in Hungary. You can't buy tickets with US cards, I tried 3 different credit and debit cards
