Description

Safari Blacklist is a website blocking app for Safari iOS with features that give you flexibility and accountability:

- block websites without having to select "Limit Adult Websites" from Settings > Content and Privacy Restrictions > Content Restrictions > Web Content
- use pattern matching to block anything from websites to search results to the entire Internet
- only configure your blacklist on an external device so that websites can't be easily unblocked

Sign up for free and without an email address on safariblacklist.com, make your blacklist, and enjoy all the features of your iPhone or iPad minus the impulsive or excessive Internet use.

Fills In A Missing iOS Feature!

Works great without crazy extra stuff you don’t need or eventually get charged for. Set up a block list online, load it in app, and the page won’t open. That’s all I want. Need to circumvent it? There’s ways around it, but that’s not what this is for. It works best at blocking waste of time sites. If you need accountability software, use parental block or just get a dumb phone. If you need basic functionality, this is one of the best apps I’ve seen in years!

One Major Issue easily bypassed

I love the idea of an app where I can block any website that I configure through a different device. The main issue I face with this extension however is that I can simply bypass the extension by clicking on the aA button on Safari and clicking reload without content blockers even if I have screen time enabled which greys out the ability to turn off extensions. I think a way to fix this is to allow the user to choose a website to redirect to if a website is blocked. For example if I wanted to block reddit the extension would redirect to google.com. Or even just set the extension to go to about:blank by default. There’d be no way to disable content blockers on a website that I couldn’t visit in the first place. If it wasn’t for this one major issue it’d literally be a perfect extension.

Developer Response ,

Redirecting blacklisted sites to about:blank is great suggestion. I'm going to take a look into it. Thanks for your feedback!
