Had to use physical Blink card instead of app

After trying for 5min to get the charge session started with app, I had to just use the physical card instead (which works great). I’d really like to just use my phone however. I also never get notified via SMS or email when the charge is complete. I have my settings correct. I do get notified via email only when I begin a charge. Not sure why it’s just for that and only an email. This last complaint might be a little nit-picky, but I use dark mode on my iPhone and the Activity page’s text for Start Date, Start Time, Rate, and Total Charge doesn’t shift to white. This text stays black and is not readable in dark mode.

You can visit https://www.blinkcharging.com/evcharging-instructions for help in starting a charger via your phone so your card is not needed. If you know how to use the app and believe there was another issue please provide more details so we can look into it. Additionally, the issues you mentioned with email notifications and dark mode have been fixed. No useful location information

The one time we need to emergency charge in order to get home, we try finding a Blink charger in downtown Portland. First of all the app has a charger icon following us as we drive around trying to find one. Clicking on a charger on the map highlights it and then immediately reverts to the “closest” charger instead, so there is no way to get any information for the charger I selected. The reason I have to select a different one is because there is no information about exactly where the charger is. We outright never found several of them, likely because they’re located within buildings, including paid parking garages, yet the app gives *no* details indicating this. We even found one out in the open that wasn’t on the map at all, but the nearby valet told us it just plain didn’t work anyway. The slightest change to the map causes it to gray out and “load”, which makes basic map navigation extremely difficult. When we finally found a charger, the process of starting the charge was extremely non-obvious, with the charger saying to use a card. Turns out you have to navigate through the app and enter the unit number, which is something the charger itself could easily make clear.

We are really sorry for the trouble and we appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention. I have escalated the issue and our app development team is working to resolve it. We are working to add helpful location details to assist with finding chargers. In the meantime we highly recommend an app that we've partnered with called PlugShare. They have helpful images and notes to help you locate chargers. Please let us know if you need further assistance by calling us at 888-998-2546 or at support@blinknetwork.com.

Thanks for The Anxiety!

The map on your app doesn’t match the location where the chargers were when I arrived at Bush Intercontinental Airport. Your app also said two chargers were available to use then that dropped to one. When I got there there were only three chargers and they were all occupied. I found a few more in the process of being installed and marked off with yellow tape, Thanks for that! I had to park my car partly blocking the parking area and took a charge plug from two cars that had been plugged in for days and I couldn’t activate any of them from the app. By this time my Leaf’s pack was down to 42 percent state of charge and there was no way I was getting home. So I had to take my car in the opposite direction away from my home 35 miles away to get to a Nissan dealership so I could use their fast charger to charge the car that by this time was down to 29 percent. I got it up to 88 percent state of charge in 30 minutes. I’m done with your app and will be uninstalling it. Thanks for the panic attack!
