Can sweep old paper wallets!
I dug up an old paper wallet someone had given me years ago with a few satoshi on it that I completely forgot about, but it turns out no other apps support scanning an actual private key anymore except this one! That kind of dedication to backward compatibility and to the early days of Bitcoin says something about the developers.
This app was also easy to onboard onto and figure out for a Bitcoin novice. I love how simple it feels despite lots of features. Transfers to other wallets was straightforward and the fees were reasonable (on par with Coinbase). I haven’t used all the other features yet, so I may update my review later, but first impressions have been great.
Top notch wallet
Green offers a unique hybrid custody model for their multisig wallets, as well as providing their new single sig options and providing the UI for their Jade hardware wallets.
Nice coin selection (advanced options) as well.
Also they don’t distract with altcoin, advertising nor any attempts to upsell or monetize us.
Bluetooth does not work with iOS
In theory, I like everything the Blockstream Jade has to offer from features to security to being Bitcoin-only. Unfortunately, it’s proprietary wallet app Blockstream Green does not connect to iPhones via Bluetooth as advertised. I and two other friends bought Jades at the same time. All three of us have iPhones and none of us can connect the Jade to Green via Bluetooth. Yes, the firmware is up-to-date and we have all gone through Blockstream’s troubleshooting guide for Bluetooth connectivity issues. In its current state, Green simply does not work with iPhone via Bluetooth. I’m frustrated and disappointed. I sincerely hope Blockstream figures this out quickly. Three new Jade hardware wallets, three different iPhones, zero Bluetooth functionality. It cannot be a coincidence!
