Description

This app is the absolute world leader in the number of connected Bluetooth monitors, and it is essential for those who need to keep track of blood pressure on a regular basis. MedM BP offers easy pairing, reliable data transfer to offline or in-cloud storage, can be used with or without registration, supports thresholds, data export to and import from Apple Health, manual data entry from legacy meters, and provides trend analysis tools.

MedM BP has a clean interface and is designed in accordance with the established medical guidelines. Historical and trend analysis tools empower users to discover patterns and adjust behavior accordingly. Thresholds make it possible for users and their loved ones to receive notifications (push or email) if a reading surpasses the set value.

Optional integration with MedM Health Cloud is available to registered users and makes it possible to not only store, backup, and export blood pressure history securely and reliably, but also to share it with family, caregivers, and physicians. Please note that some features also require a subscription.

Data safety: MedM employs all applicable data protection best practices - cloud synchronization via HTTPS, data is stored encrypted on securely hosted servers. Users exercise full control over their records and can export or request to delete them at any time. User health data is never sold or shared with unauthorized parties.

A&D, Beurer, Omron, Viatom, Lifesense, Transtek, IndieHealth, ForaCare, Taidoc, ChoiceMMed, Jumper Medical, iChoice, PyleHealth, Contec, Zewa Inc., TECH-MED, Andesfit, Rossmax, and Silvercrest are among the many FDA approved compatible blood pressure monitor brands. Needs option

I choose this App because Omron wants acess to my personal info for me to download BP data. I haven’t been using this long, but so far everything is working as expected. I do have an enhancement request I tested my wife’s BP as user 2, unfortunately that also downloaded to my phone. IMHO people track only their own health & exercise data on their phones.

The enhancement request is to allow the user to select the user data to download from the tester or a quick data item delete to prevent data history “contamination”.

What about the multiuser feature request- please, write to our support support@medm.com and we will try to help you.

I changed my review from 2-star to 5-star

I had initial problems getting the app to separate the readings from the two users on my Omron BP monitor. That made the app quite useless. However the MedM support was great and they gave me links to the place in the manual which describes how to set up the app for two users (the manual can be found in the “Help” section of the app).

It turns out you need to make a few changes in the Apple Health app.

Once I made that change I found the app to be absolutely wonderful when paired with my Omron “Platinum” BP device. It now downloads readings for each user and lets me export those readings to Excel. I can then send that to my cardiologist.

The app itself also performs a little manipulation and, of course, stores lots more than the 100 reading limit of my Omron BP monitor.

One last thing. I did try Omron’s own app and I found it to be difficult, buggy, and worst of all, very intrusive. Omron wanted to collect all sorts of personal data. By contrast, MedM lets you choose what to share and, if you do decide to share data, they give you all sorts of additional benefits. I haven’t looked into all of those benefits, but they do sound intriguing and look to be worth doing.

I am very happ with this app.

Formerly free features paywalled

I appreciate this app for its ability to sync with my BP monitor, and for not requiring an account. Until recently, it was a five-star app for me. However, one of its essential features is Apple Health sync. This used to be a basic feature of the app, and is now paywalled behind their Premium subscription service. That’s frustrating for long-time users. I understand that maintaining an app takes money, but I don’t want to use their cloud service, so asking me to pay a recurring subscription with tons of cloud features I don’t need just to sync with Apple Health on my own device is very annoying. I’m happy to pay, just not the same price cloud users pay on a recurring basis for a local feature that has very little expense for the developer (since it’s already been implemented for years). Till out a one-time in-app purchase allowing Apple Health sync and this will be five stars for me again!

Developer Response ,

Dear sir, maintaining data sync with Apple Health permanently requires a lot of developement and money resources. We have contemplated various possibilities, but relying on the support of our users is the only way that MedM can remain an independent software developer, who remains accountable to its users, stays alive and well enough to invest in the maintenance and improvement of our apps. MedM is not sponsored by hardware manufacturers and we really appreciate the support of our users.
