Bloon™ is a powerful real-time parsing and plotting utility. Input data gets parsed using a graphical parsing language that is capable of accepting a huge number of data formats. Bloon can parse binary numbers, ASCII formatted numbers, strings, hexadecimal numbers, and many other formats as well. After the values are parsed, Bloon displays them immediately in customizable 2d scatter or line plots. Within these plots, Bloon allows you to smoothly zoom and scroll through your data.

Screenshot look like what I need but no instructions and crashes
Took a $5 gamble and lost. I want to graph data output from my Arduino hardware projects across serial to my Mac. Screenshots make Bloon look good, and developer posted on a forum saying Bloon was appropriate for my use. And it probably is but I can’t figure it out. Interface looks deceptively simple, but without any instructions, save for two fast-paced videos that don’t explain anything in depth and gloss over the “why”, I couldn’t get anything from my serial port to graph. I’m okay with feeling around in the dark for a bit with new software, but it’s not possible with this since there is an inevitable crash whenever I try something and press “Run”. I’m obviously doing something wrong, but zero error trapping for common newbie mistakes resulting in crashes means this is not ready for release into the wild.
I think there is hope for this app and obviously a lot of work went into it, but dev. hasn’t updated in almost a year so I guess this has been abandoned. If you’re going to continue to sell it at least write up a few pages on your website describing how to use it and maybe test it on your sister or Gramgram so you can see it crash. Or don’t, and take it off the App store. Enjoy your Starbux grande mocha on my dime.
