Flexible, does what it says, and looks good doing it

This is the best replacement I have found for the old defunct iDeskCal (which now crashes all the time). This really is a good app, and very flexible. I have removed all the "other stuff” in the left sidebar, and just have the calendar showing. I like how the all-day events show at the top, and the time events below. It does a good job showing overlapping events. And . . . it looks really good. I have one requests to get it from 4 to 5 stars. I would like the user to be able to select the level of transparency ( for the fade AND for the default), all the way down to invisible (so if you wanted it would timed disappear). You see one of the cool features is the timed fade. Very nice. So give us default and fade transparency levels and I will go to 5 stars!

One of my must-have-installed apps

This is one of my must-have-apps installed on any of my Mac’s. I have been using it for years and it does exactly what I need it to do. It doesn’t replace the calendar app but having all my daily appointments visible on my desktop is just so helpful for me. A quick four-finger gesture on the trackpad and voila, I have my day right in front of me without having to open any calendar app.

An unobtrusive way to always have my daily appointments right on my desktop nicely blended in on the left-hand side without taking up too much Desktop space and if I make any changes to my calendar on my Mac or iPhone it immediately gets reflected in Blotter. This always gives me a great overview of my day right in front of me. Allowing to configure which calendar to visualize is super helpful, especially when using Blotter on my work laptop. Was super easy to setup and I never had any issues with it and I have been using Blotter for years.

What I was looking for

I was a little hesitant, based on the negative reviews, to purchase this application. But so far it is pretty much what I was looking for. I have it parked on my second monitor, where it stays faded and in the background of other apps. I have the hotkey for the calendar mapped to a Dragon Dictate voice command, so I can simply call it up when I need to view it above other opened windows. I also have it linked to a Keyboard Maestro macro so that when my computer is awakened, this calendar comes to forefront after 10 seconds.

I like how it syncs with iCloud calendar, and allows for adding events from the menubar. Though I do say to-do manager, it’s very useful to get a overview of scheduled events without having to open the regular calendar app on my to-do manager.

I’m glad it’s still working. I’m sure the developers could much more with it, but for now it seems to be working okay.
