I read various reviews on the Player + speaker and pulled the trigger, buying this for me for Christmas. I am a convert from another golf gps app. I love the combination speaker app and especially like the visual yardage to hazards/over hazards as well as front/center/back of green. I was using a much better speaker previously along with a separate handheld gps and while both are adequate, having the one Blue Tees unit to give me gps data, allow me to keep score and stats and be able to listen to music is something I enjoy. Regarding customer service, the course I play recently created new tee boxes and combination tee boxes. That data was not displayed correctly in the Blue Tees app. I contacted customer service and got a quick response requesting current course scorecard and course layout so they could update the app. They kept me updated as changes were being made. I’m happy to say the system is now updated with current yardage and tee box data. It took them less than two weeks to update the data. To be honest, I expected it to take much longer. So far, so good. I recommend the Player +.
I heard about Blue Tees and bought their divot repair tools (one for my son and one for me), range finder and their GPS+Player combination. After ordering, I waited for several months having not received it yet. When I reached out, I received a quick email response apologizing for the delay (something had happened and they fixed it quickly). My Player arrived within 3-5 days. Fast forward it was too cold to use but once I brought it out, it finds the course you are at fast, very accurate yardages and outstanding sound quality. Unfortunately, the magnet gave way (was attached to the metal roof bar) going over a bump, it fell of and cracked the screen. I contacted them and they again apologized and my new one is on its way.Stuff happens even with great products. But what makes people customers for life are how companies respond when things happen and this company - Understood the assignment!!!!
I’ve never written an app review. I’ve also never had a development team reach out to me and ask for direct feedback. I received my Blue Tees Player+ and it’s a good looking device with great sound. However, I didn’t buy it for music - that’s a bonus - I bought it for GPS on the course. So my son and I took it out immediately. I’m not gonna lie there were some frustrations: it wouldn’t advance holes, I had to open the app to adjust it, etc. By the time I got home, the team had reached out asking for feedback because they knew I’d received the device recently. I sent some comments and thought nothing of it. Less than a half your later they reached out for details. We went back and forth - less than two weeks later a new release was out that addressed my concerns. Ive never seen any company have such a voracious appetite for feedback, let alone actually listen and improve a product. Never. Not any product - Not any company. I couldn’t be more impressed. (FWIW Before I BOUGHT my BT Player I demo’d a similar product from a well known optics manufacturer. I could have bought the demo for half off and chose to save my money.)I already had a BT Rangefinder but if I didn’t I’d buy one knowing their commitment to their products. I’m not promising anything but I’ve made a couple other suggestions and if they add those - you will be mad if you don’t have this device.
First of all I have enjoyed all of the blue tees stuff I have gotten from them in the past. Admittedly I am not one to write reviews (I know, shameful) but I must give credit where credit is due here. I have been trying to use my blue tees app in anticipation of the player+ coming out, and I have been having issues with it. I could not get the screen to load and had been waiting for new updates to see if it would go away. Finally I decided to contact blue tees support, honestly thinking I would probably not be answered, and to my surprise I was emailed back within an hour!! MICHAEL at blue tees support was very patient, corresponded back with me in a timely manner, and worked very hard to get the issue with the app resolved. Many companies try to bring a small business feel to a larger demographic, but blue tees has clearly succeeded with their superior service.
I use speaker and blue tees app with a diamond membership. Speaker it’s awesome and sound quality phenomenal. It’s so good it has replaced all the portable speakers in my house. Having the ranges on the speaker for quick reference has made it so I don’t need to pull out my range finder and I have compared the ranges to a rangefinder they are very accurate!I have used a lot of golf apps previously and this one is by far my favorite. Love the ability to track distances for each club and the simplicity of the app. It has a summary page that will throw all golf stats in a easy display and fun to look at, to include amount of Birdies, PARs, and bogeys based off the rounds logged through the app. The Blue Tees team is easy to work with and if a course is missing you can send in a score card and they always get it updated within a couple days. I just recently used some of their advanced features that include a reconstructed flyover or a hole I played that ended up being a hole in one on a short dogleft par 4 making a 260 yard 3 wood ACE! Used this feature in my post and people kept messaging me saying “the flyover was cool to see with the post”. As long as you track all your shots through the app you could use this feature for a full 18. Overall I recommend the app and their products!

I’ve had several Blue Tees products over the last few years and I’ve never been disappointed. When the Player+ GPS speaker was announced I almost immediately preordered it and got this app right away. I used the app for every round while I was waiting for my speaker and it worked absolutely amazingly.Once my speaker arrived I did notice a big issue with it not auto advancing from one hole to the next. So much so that for a couple rounds I didn’t use the speaker at all. Then out of the blue I got an email from Michael in product support letting me know the app had been updated and a lot of the previous issues were fixed. I took it out on my very next round and let me just say, WOW! It was as close to perfect as you can get. Distances were spot on, auto advance worked perfectly (too perfectly if you hit your drive to the next fairway 🤦🏻♂️) and the sound quality was fantastic as always.I can’t thank Michael and his team enough for all the hard work they do on the daily to bring such good products to the golf market. After two rangefinders, two speakers, headcovers, towels, and mag link hubs, I am proud to say I am a Blue Tees lifer!
I received the Player+ speaker for Father’s Day and was really happy with how it performed for the most part. The only 2 things that I’d deduct stars for are #1, the lack of integration with Apple Watch. Most golf apps work with Apple Watch and this allows for a much more seamless round. I ended up not using any of the premium features because if I took my phone in my pocket, the music would start cutting out around the greens, so I just didn’t input anything on the phone. If this was doable via my Apple Watch, it would have been 100% more functional. #2 is the battery life. It’s rated for 10 hours, but we played 1 round, lasting just around 4 hours and the Player + showed 25% batter left. For the most part, this was great, but longer battery life and Apple Watch integration would make it dang near perfect! I just don’t see why I would keep the premium subscription after the trial without the Apple Watch integration.

I bought the player + because I loved the idea of real time distances displayed on my screen, while listening to music. The speaker has exceeded every expectation. Moreover the app is outstanding and the customer service is off the charts. This is already the gold standard in combination speaker/GPS devices and OMG does it seem they are passionate about getting better and better. I am a very tough consumer when I comes to golf and I would tell anyone that if you are considering a Wingman because it is the industry standard, then you had better take a look at this start up as this is absolutely the future!!
I really don’t know where all the positive reviews of this app or the support from the development team come from. I’ve had nothing but ongoing issues with the functionality, specifically the app either inaccurately or not saving hole scores, and a frustrating lack of support in getting this issue resolved. Despite numerous back and forth emails with the “support” team over a period of four months I’m no closer to a solution. All I get is “here’s how to update the app and that should fix it” when there are no updates available followed by “here’s how to correct your scores at the end of a round” followed by “let me get with the app developer team and get back to you.” Then no follow up. When I circle back to inquire on the same email chain I have to start all over with the original issue with again, you guessed it, the same disappearing act. I would have abandoned the app all together if not for its integration with the speaker device.

I have used a large number of golf tracking apps and deduced to give Blue Tees a try after getting the speaker as a gift this Christmas. Overall it’s okay, but makes some features harder to do than needed. It’s easy to input score for a hole and putts, but adding info about fairways and greens hit is in a completely different flow. There is also no way to adjust a round after you start one. Played last week and on the first tee the group I got paired with selected to play the Blues when I had setup the app to use the whites. No way to correct it during the round other than to end the round and create a new one. The hole fly over and distance details are great. And shot tracking is far easier than other apps. But scoring is clunky and needs work.
Hello Jesmith thank you very much for this feedback. You are right about scoring, we can reduce the friction here. We have a new improved scoring experience that will be going live this month based on feedback like this. I think that is great feedback about being able to change the tee box after the start of the round. We will get this functionality added within the next app release.
