BoldVoice: Pronunciation App 4+

If I were to design an accent trainer it would be exactly like this…

This is exactly what I was looking for in an accent training app! It was years ago when I figured out that the KEY issue in practicing a foreign language is to ADJUST YOUR TONGUE— the tongue positions you’re so used to when speaking language A are usually VERY different from those of language B, and the tiniest misplace of the tongue will lead to an “off” sound of an “language-A-accent”— that’s because your tongue’s lingering around the “language A” position that it is shaped to as you grow up! I really like this app for it addresses the tongue-position-issue meticulously; it REALLY captures those little off-positions your tongue accidentally slips into and lets you know. I also really love several of its features like the one that allows you to put in your own text and practice its pronunciations, the bookmark feature also works amazing. In all— very satisfied; would love it more if the price was more accessible, though.

User Friendly

I’ve always wanted to enhance my English skills, but finding the right method was a challenge until I stumbled upon this app. It’s been an incredible journey of learning and improvement!

From the very start, I was impressed by the app’s user-friendly interface. The lessons are organized in a systematic way, making it easy to progress from beginner to advanced levels. The interactive exercises and quizzes are engaging and kept me motivated to learn more every day.

One of the standout features for me is the variety of content available. There are grammar lessons, vocabulary drills, listening exercises, and even speaking practice. The diverse range of topics ensures that I not only improve my language skills but also expand my knowledge on different subjects.

Not as helpful as other app, bad customer service

This app record how each letter sounds, but not really have lessons how to pronounce combining letters. Unfortunately just know how to sound out single letter doesn’t help pronounce the words. App doesn’t even differentiate dark L and light L. This is the main reason I purchased the subscription. I paid for a year subscription and they refused to refund me. They told me they could give me “free month” super subscription, but I would lose my paid one-year subscription. How is this free? How I can lose the subscription I already paid for. This is not the company you can trust. Beware when buy any app from the Apple Store, better pay month by month. When you pay one-year subscription, almost impossible to get refund. They will give you a very general contact information which promotes many of their products. I have been trying to get refund since February, I only had subscription for less than two months. Now it is April, no news. I wish they told me from the day I contacted them no refund possible, so I don’t waste my time.

Hi Cathy, we're sorry BoldVoice didn't work out. Our lessons are structured so that you can master individual sounds at the start and then progress towards more advanced pronunciation combinations. Our expert coaches have also made the conscious decision to teach the dark L and light L as one sound, based on how English as a language is evolving. Regarding the refund, as our team communicated, only Apple is able to process refunds and app developers are not allowed to manage that process. If we could have done anything about that on our end, we would have initiated the refund right away for you.
